Day 1 : Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Marangu Gate, Hike to Mandara Hut

Day 2 : Hike Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Day 3 : Hike Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 4 : Hike Kibo Hut to Summit, and Down to Horombo Hut

Day 5 : Hike Horombo Hut to the Trailhead, Drive to Moshi

Day 1: Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Marangu Gate, Hike to Mandara Hut

After breakfast and a briefing, we will drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. Once we complete the necessary registration, we will begin the hike through the rainforest to reach the Mandara Hut. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to see towering Eucalyptus trees, birdlife, and Colobus monkeys. We will spend the night at Mandara Hut.

Day 2: Hike Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Leaving the rainforest behind, we will ascend through the open moorlands to reach the Horombo Hut. The stunning views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo will accompany us on this part of the hike. We will spend the night at Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Hike Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Continuing our ascent, we will cross the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The vegetation will change to a barren alpine desert as we reach Kibo Hut. We will have dinner and rest here in preparation for the summit climb.

Day 4: Hike Kibo Hut to Summit, and Down to Horombo Hut

In the early morning, we will begin the challenging climb to the summit. Starting at Gilman's Point on the crater rim, we will continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment will make this a memorable experience. After spending some time at the summit, we will descend to Kibo Hut for a rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut.

Day 5: Hike Horombo Hut to the Trailhead, Drive to Moshi

After breakfast, we will descend steadily through the moorland to reach the Mandara Hut. From there, we will continue our descent through the lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. A vehicle will be waiting to drive us back to our hotel in Moshi.
