Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate

Start the day with a drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate. Begin your hike at an altitude of 1860m and hike for approximately 3-4 hours through montane forest habitat. Cover a distance of 8km and reach Mandara Hut (2700m) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mandara Huts hike to Horombo Huts

After breakfast continue your hike through heath land habitat. Ascend from 2700m to 3700m, covering a distance of 12km over 5-6 hours. Reach Horombo Hut for dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Horombo Huts hike to Kibo Huts

Resume your hike after an early breakfast. Ascend from 3700m to 4700m, covering 9km in approximately 5-6 hours. Pass through Alpine desert habitat and arrive at Kibo Hut. Enjoy dinner and rest overnight.

Day 4: Kibo Huts to Uhuru Peak

Start the day with breakfast before embarking on the ascent. Hike from 4700m to 5895m, covering 6km through Alpine desert habitat. Reach the summit, Uhuru Peak, and spend some time there before descending to 3700m. Cover a total distance of 15km and return to Horombo Hut for lunch, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5: Horombo Huts to Park Gate Descend from Horombo Hut (3700m) to the park gate at 1700m.

Hike through montane forest habitat for approximately 4-5 hours, covering a distance of 20km. Arrive at the gate, receive your hiking certificate, and celebrate your achievement. Tip the porters before being transferred back to your hotel in moshi.
