Day 1 : Marangu Gate hike to Mandara Hut

Day 2 : Mandara Hut hike to Horombo Hut

Day 3 : Horombo Hut hike to Kibo Hut

Day 4 : Kibo Hut to hike to Uhuru Peak and descent to Horombo Hut

Day 5 : Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and return to Moshi to Marangu Gate.

Day 1: Marangu Gate hike to Mandara Hut

Depart from Moshi in the morning and drive for about 2 hours to Marangu village. Complete the necessary paperwork at the gate and meet the porters and guides. Begin the 4-5 hour hike through a dense, wet forest to Mandara Hut. If time permits, take a walk to Maundi Crater for a panoramic view. Overnight at Mandara Hut.

Day 2: Mandara Hut hike to Horombo Hut

after 45 minutes of walking through the forest, enter the heath belt with tall grass and gradually move into the moor. Trek for approximately 5-6 hours to reach Horombo Hut, where you'll enjoy a stunning view of Mawenzi Peak. Spend the night at Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Horombo Hut hike to Kibo Hut

Hike for about 6-7 hours across the arid and exposed alpine desert of the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi. Carry enough water from the last fresh water point at 14,100 ft (4,300 m). Overnight at Kibo Hut.

Day 4: Kibo Hut to hike to Uhuru Peak and descent to Horombo Hut

Start the ascent around 12:30-1 am, passing through freezing temperatures. After about 6 hours, reach Gillman's Point on the crater rim. Continue for another 1.5 hours to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Take in the views and then descend to Kibo Hut for a rest. Descend further to Horombo Hut for overnight stay.
