Enjoy a 5-Day Luxury Family Safari across Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli with private drives, child-friendly guiding, rhinos and elephants.
Create unforgettable memories together on this 5-Day Luxury Family Safari across Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. Designed for parents, children and multigenerational families, the private itinerary introduces three contrasting wildlife destinations while providing flexible road stops and family-friendly accommodation. Children will discover lions, elephants, giraffes and grazing herds in the Maasai Mara, rhinos and birds at Lake Nakuru and large elephant families in Amboseli. Our guide will explain wildlife behaviour and conservation in an engaging way, while a private safari vehicle allows activities to be adjusted around the family’s comfort and energy levels.
Our friendly driver-guide will collect your family from Nairobi and assist with luggage before beginning the approximately 260–280-kilometre journey to the Maasai Mara. The transfer normally takes five to six hours, with washroom, meal and stretching stops arranged for children and older relatives. The route passes Great Rift Valley scenery, farms, towns and Maasai countryside. After checking in at your family-friendly luxury lodge and enjoying lunch, you will take an afternoon drive featuring possible elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and lions. The guide will introduce younger travellers to wildlife through simple explanations and identification activities.
After breakfast, the family will depart with a picnic lunch and explore approximately 50–90 kilometres over seven to eight hours. Possible attractions include lion prides, elephant families, cheetahs, giraffes and wildebeest herds, while the guide explains food chains, animal communication and conservation. The private vehicle allows additional comfort stops or an earlier return if younger guests become tired. Lunch will be enjoyed at an authorised location before the afternoon drive continues.
After breakfast, your family will check out and travel approximately 230–250 kilometres to Lake Nakuru over four and a half to six hours. The route passes agricultural highlands, rural communities and Rift Valley landscapes, with washroom and refreshment stops included. After arrival, you will check in at your selected luxury lodge, enjoy lunch or refreshments and relax. Children can review their wildlife checklist and prepare for the next destination.
Where timing and confirmed entry arrangements allow, the family may begin with an early Lake Nakuru wildlife activity for rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, baboons and birds. You will then travel approximately 350–400 kilometres to Amboseli over seven to eight hours, with suitable comfort, meal and stretching stops along the route. After reaching your family-friendly lodge, you will check in, enjoy dinner and rest after the long transfer.
Depending on lodge location and departure time, your family may enjoy a short morning wildlife drive through Amboseli’s plains and wetlands. Children can search for elephant families, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and birds, while Mount Kilimanjaro may appear when weather conditions are clear. After breakfast and check-out, you will travel approximately 215–240 kilometres to Nairobi over four to five hours, with a meal and comfort stop before final drop-off.
