5 Days Luxury Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru Educational Student Safari

Students and authorised leaders will be collected from an agreed Nairobi location before travelling approximately 260–280 kilometres to the Maasai Mara over five to six hours. The route introduces Great Rift Valley geography, highland agriculture, rural settlement and changing land-use patterns. After arrival, the group will check in, enjoy lunch and receive a safety briefing before an afternoon wildlife drive. Attractions may include elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators, while the guide introduces basic wildlife identification and ecosystem relationships.

After breakfast, students will depart with picnic lunches and cover approximately 50–90 kilometres over seven to nine hours. The guide may use real wildlife observations to explain lion social behaviour, elephant family structures, grazing patterns, scavengers, food chains and predator-prey relationships. Students can take notes and photographs while remaining inside the safari vehicle. Lunch will be enjoyed at an authorised location before the afternoon field study continues.

The third day includes another seven-to-nine-hour field experience covering approximately 50–90 kilometres. The route may include river habitats, open plains and woodland areas supporting hippos, crocodiles, birds, herbivores and predators. Discussions may focus on protected-area management, tourism revenue, guiding standards, human-wildlife coexistence and conservation challenges. Students will record observations before returning to the lodge for dinner and an optional reflection session.

After breakfast and check-out, students will travel approximately 230–250 kilometres to Lake Nakuru over four and a half to six hours. The transfer allows discussion of agriculture, settlement, water resources and the changing relationship between protected areas and surrounding communities. If accommodation and entry arrangements allow, an afternoon game drive may introduce rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes and lake birds. Otherwise, students will check in and prepare for the morning study activity.

The final field session covers approximately 25–50 kilometres over three to four hours. Students may observe rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, baboons and waterbirds while discussing endangered-species protection, lake ecology and park management. After the drive, the group will travel approximately 155–165 kilometres to Nairobi over two and a half to three and a half hours. The guide may review major topics before drop-off at the agreed location.
