The rest of the day involves a game drive as you head back toward the Central Serengeti. You will leave early for the Ngorongoro Crater, a drive of about 3 hours. You will descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a half day tour. This collapsed volcano is home to over 30,000 animals, including the endangered black rhino. You will have lunch near the hippo pool before starting the drive back to Arusha. The climb out of the crater offers a final spectacular view of the entire caldera. You will arrive in Arusha in the late evening for your departure or overnight stay.
