1. How is the safari vehicle modified for photographers?
Our luxury 4x4s feature drop-down windows, 360-degree swivel seats, beanbags for stability, and multiple charging points for cameras and drones.
2. Does the guide understand photography logistics?
Yes, we provide "Photo-Specialist" guides who understand light angles, positioning the vehicle for the best background, and predicting animal movement.
3. Can I bring a drone for aerial photography?
Drone use is strictly regulated in Tanzania. You must obtain permits from the TCAA and TANAPA months in advance. We can assist with the paperwork for a fee.
4. Is there a limit to how much camera gear I can bring?
On our luxury road safaris, there is no strict limit. However, if using internal bush flights, a 15kg-20kg limit in soft bags usually applies to all luggage
5. Do the lodges have dedicated editing areas?
Yes, we select luxury lodges that offer "Media Rooms" or high-speed Wi-Fi and ample desk space in suites for back-up and post-processing.
6. Will we stay at sightings for a long time?
Absolutely. Unlike standard tours, this safari is about patience. We stay with a subject as long as needed to capture the perfect action or lighting.
7. What are the best lenses to pack for a 5-day Tanzania trip?
A versatile 70-200mm for portraits and a 100-400mm or 500mm prime for birds and distant predators are highly recommended.
8. Is beanbag support provided in the vehicle?
Yes, we provide pre-filled beanbags in all our photography vehicles to ensure your long lenses remain stable for sharp shots
9. How do we handle dust protection for our gear?
Tanzania can be dusty. We provide protective "Dust-Covers" and cleaning kits in the vehicle, and our lodges offer pressurized air cleaning.
10. Do we go out for "Golden Hour" photography?
? Every day! We depart before sunrise to catch the blue and golden hours and stay out until the very last light for those dramatic silhouettes.
