The Booking Form
5-Day Tanzania Luxury Safari In January – Explore Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater post-rains with lush scenery, active wildlife, and luxury accommodations.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Is January a good time for a luxury safari?
January is spectacular. It is the start of the "Short Dry Season." The landscapes are still a lush emerald green from the previous rains, but the skies are clear, making for perfect 5-star photography conditions.
2. Where is the Great Migration located in January?
The herds are concentrated on the Southern Short-Grass Plains. They gather here because the soil is rich in calcium and magnesium, which is essential for the pregnant wildebeest and zebras.
3. Can we see the start of the calving season in January?
Yes. While the peak is in February, the first wave of "Early Arrivals" begins in late January. You will see thousands of newborn foals and calves dotting the plains
4. How hot does it get in January?
It is one of the warmer months, with daytime temperatures reaching $28^{\circ}\text{C}$ to $30^{\circ}\text{C}$. Our luxury 4x4s are equipped with advanced climate control and stocked with chilled artisanal waters to keep you refreshed.
5. Is it a good time for birdwatching?
January is the pinnacle of birding. Migratory birds from Europe and North Africa are present in massive numbers, joining the local species in their bright breeding plumage.
6. What is the "Dust-Free" benefit of January?
Because the ground is still slightly moist from the short rains, there is very little dust. This is a major luxury advantage for your camera gear and overall breathing comfort during game drives.
7. Can we do a walking safari in January?
Yes. The lush (but not too tall) grass makes for excellent Private Guided Bush Walks in the Southern concessions, led by an armed ranger and a master tracker.
8. Should we fly directly to the South?
Highly recommended. We arrange Private Executive Flights from Arusha or Zanzibar directly into Ndutu Airstrip, putting you in the heart of the herds within an hour
9. Is the Ngorongoro Crater busy in January?
It is a popular month, but the wildlife concentration is at its peak. We utilize Early-Entry Permits (6:00 AM) to ensure you have private moments with the rhinos before other vehicles arrive.
10. Do we need to book far in advance for January?
Yes. January is the start of the "Calving Circuit." To secure a Luxury Tented Suite with a direct view of the plains, we recommend booking at least 9 to 12 months ahead.
