Join our Kilimanjaro Hiking adventure on the Marangu Route, a 5-day itinerary with a gradual slope and direct path to the summit. Safety and success are our priorities with strict rules, monitoring, and support. Though less scenic, it is a popular choice. With preparation and expert guidance, it is an unforgettable experience.
Hiking time: 3-4 hours Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers Habitat: Montane Forest. Begin your journey with an early breakfast at your hotel in Arusha. You will then be picked up and driven to the Marangu Gate (1980m), where you will meet your guide and register with the Tanzania National Park (TANAPA). As the porters organize and pack your belongings, you will start your ascent through the enchanting montane forest. During this section of the hike, be prepared for rain, mud, and fog. Embrace the beauty of the rainforest and keep an eye out for Colobus monkeys and other wildlife. After a 3–4-hour hike, you will reach the Mandara Hut (2700m). The hut offers comfortable sleeping arrangements with solar-generated lighting, and there are flush toilets nearby. The porters will boil water for drinking and washing, and the chef will prepare snacks and dinner for you. Be prepared for the cold temperatures at night as they can drop below freezing.
