Experience the ultimate Kilimanjaro climbing journey on the 6-day Rongai Route. The Rongai trail is a unique and challenging way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting at the Rongai gate, which is located in the north east of the mountain, the trail takes climbers through a beautiful forest and across fields of maize before reaching the pine forests that cover the lower slopes of the mountain up to summit then descend back to moshi.
Climbers will trek for approximately 6-7 hours through the forest and moorlands, passing by small villages and crossing streams along the way. The first night's camp is set up at Simba Camp, which sits at an altitude of 2626 meters.

As you begin your summit attempt on Day 5, you'll wake up early in the morning, around 2:20 am, to start your journey to the top of Kilimanjaro. You'll have some tea and biscuits to fuel up before embarking on your ascent. The journey from Kibo Camp to Uhuru Peak is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that requires physical preparation, mental determination, and a spirit of adventure. It's a test of your limits and a remarkable accomplishment that you'll remember for the rest of your life Reaching Uhuru Peak is a significant achievement, and trekkers often take time to celebrate, take photos, and absorb the incredible views. After spending some time at the summit, you'll begin your descent back to Kibo Camp. The descent is typically faster than the ascent, and once you arrive back at Kibo Camp, you'll have a chance to rest before continuing the descent to lower altitudes up to horombo hut.

You will embark on a 6-hour hike from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate. As you descend from the higher altitudes, you will pass through different habitats, including moorland and montane forest. The trail offers breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape, including the peaks of Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, you will start your descent, which will take you approximately 19.7 km. The hike will be challenging, but the beautiful scenery will make it worthwhile. Along the way, you will pass the Mandara hut, which offers a place to rest and refuel. As you approach the end of your journey, you will arrive at Marangu Gate, where you will sign your name and details in a register. This is also where successful climbers receive their summit certificates. Those who reached Gillman's Point or Uhuru Peak will receive a green or gold certificate, respectively. After completing the hike, you will drive back to Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower, dinner, and a well-deserved rest.
