Day 1 : Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Day 2 : Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Day 3 : Horombo Hut Acclimatization day

Day 4 : Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 5 : Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Day 6 : Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

o Climbing time: 3-4 hours o Distance: Approximately 12 kilometers o Habitat: Montane forest After breakfast at your hotel, you'll be driven to Marangu Gate (1980m) where you'll register with Tanzania National Park. Begin your ascent through the rainforest, expecting rain, mud, and fog. Look out for wildlife like Colobus monkeys. After 3-4 hours, reach Mandara Hut (2700m) with sleeping bunks, solar lighting, and flush toilets. The porters will provide boiled water and the chef will prepare snacks and dinner. Prepare for freezing temperatures at night.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

o Climbing time: 6 hours o Distance: Approximately 15 kilometers o Habitat: Moorland Leave the rainforest and enter the heathen moorland. Pass by Maundi Crater for a view of Kibo Crater. Spot exotic plants like giant lobelia and groundsel. Reach Horombo Hut (3720m) after 6 hours. Porters provide water, and the chef prepares snacks and dinner. Expect freezing temperatures at night.

Day 3: Horombo Hut Acclimatization day

Spend the day acclimatizing at Horombo Hut. Optional day hike to Mawenzi Hut (4600m) with your guide. Breakfast and dinner at the hut, and lunch depending on your preference. Overnight at Horombo Hut

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

o Climbing time: 6 hours o Distance: Approximately 15 kilometers o Habitat: Alpine desert Continue ascent through alpine desert. Choose between upper and lower routes to Kibo Hut (4700m). Buy water and drinks at the camp office; no water at the camp. Early dinner to rest before summit night. Get to sleep early.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

o Climbing time: 8 hours to Uhuru and 6 hours to Horombo o Distance: Approximately 6 kilometers ascent and 21 kilometers descent o Habitat: Stone scree and ice-capped summit. Wake up around 23:30 for tea and biscuits. Begin summit attempt, reaching Gillman's Point (5681m) and then Uhuru Peak (5895m) after a snowy trail. Enjoy a short time on the summit, take photos, an have tea. Descend to Kibo Hut for lunch, and then continue to Horombo Hut for dinner and rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

o Climbing time: 6 hours o Distance: Approximately 27 kilometers o Descend for 6 hours back to Marangu Gate. Sign your name to receive certificates of completion. Drive back to Moshi for showers and celebrations. Overnight at your hotel in Moshi.
