The path gets steeper as you leave the forest and reach the Umbwe ridge, before descending slightly to Barranco camp, nestled in a valley.

Today, we'll hike 6km in 4-6 hours from Barranco Camp (3,900 meters) to Karanga Camp (3,960 meters). The highlight is conquering the 257-meter Barranco Wall, a rocky hike that requires all four limbs. Afterwards, we'll hike through the Southern Circuit, crossing the Karanga Valley to reach Karanga Camp.

Today's challenging hike of 4.5km in 6-8 hours begins at 23:30 from Barafu Camp. We'll ascend the slopes of Kibo and reach Stella Point (5,739 meters) at dawn. After a brief rest, we'll push on to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). Then, we descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) through the glacial and preceding zones.
