    We will begin our ascent from the Rongai trailhead, located at an altitude of 1,950 meters. The journey will take us through the lush green fields of corn and the dense forests of pine trees. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to witness the diverse flora and fauna that call this region home. As we make our way to the Simba Camp, located at an altitude of 2,600 meters, we will have a chance to take a break and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The porters and chef will be hard at work, setting up camp and preparing a hot meal for us to enjoy.

    Day 2: SIMBA CAMP TO SECOND CAVE

    Will see us continue our ascent to the Simba Camp, located at an altitude of 3,600 meters. This part of the trail is known for its challenging terrain and exposed conditions, so we will need to be prepared for a strenuous hike. As we make our way to the campsite, we will be greeted by the cool, crisp air of the moorlands. The tents will be set up for us, and our porters will have prepared a hot meal for us to enjoy. Despite the cold temperatures, we will be well-equipped to handle the conditions and make the most of our time in the great outdoors.

    Day 3: SECOND CAVE TO THIRD CAVE

    We will wake up to the stunning views of the Kikelewa range. After a hearty breakfast, we will begin our journey towards second cave, which is located at an altitude of 4330 meters. The trail today is steep but not too long, and we will get to enjoy the unique habitat of the moorlands, where we will see exotic plants such as giant lobelia and groundsel. As we make our way to the third cave camp, we will be mesmerized by the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Once we reach the camp, we will take some time to rest and admire the breath taking sunset. Our experienced guides will prepare a hot dinner for us, and washing water will be available. We will spend the night in the campsite, allowing our bodies to acclimate to the high altitude.

    Day 4: THIRD CAVE TO KIBO HUT

    THIRD CAVE TO KIBO HUT

    We will wake up to the stunning views of the Mawenzi peak. After a hearty breakfast, we will begin our ascent towards the Kibo hut, which is located at an altitude of 4770 meters. The trail today is a half-day hike, and we will cover a distance of around 4-5 hours. The habitat at this altitude is an alpine desert, and there is no water available at the camp. However, we can buy mineral water and soft drinks at the camp office. Our guides will brief us in detail on how to prepare for the summit night, and we will have an early dinner so that we can get some rest before our big adventure. We will be aiming to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro on this day, so we will need to be well-rested and prepared. We will hit the sack early, as we need to get up early to start our ascent to the summit.

    Day 5: KIBO HUT TO SUMMIT TO HOROMBO HUT

    As we embark on day five of our hike, we will wake up to the stunning views of the Kibo hut, which stands at an altitude of 4700 meters. After a hearty breakfast, we will begin our summit attempt. The trail today is a challenging one, with an 8-hour ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5895 meters. The habitat at this altitude is a rocky scree, with a thin layer of ice covering the surface. As we reach the crater rim, we will come across Gillman’s point, which stands at an altitude of 5681 meters. From here, we will have a snow-covered trail all the way to the summit. The final push to the top is a challenging one, but the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with reaching the summit is indescribable

    The final day of our hike takes us back down to Marangu gate, where we will sign our names to receive our certificates of completion. We will then drive back to Moshi, where our journey began, and celebrate our achievement with a well-deserved shower and a delicious meal. The memories of our hike will stay with us forever, and we will look back on this adventure with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
