Continue Hiking Third Cave Camp To Kibo Hut

As we make our way from the Third Cave to Kibo Hut, the air becomes colder and crisper. The alpine desert habitat is a stark contrast to the lush forests we left behind, with its barren and rocky terrain. We take our time on this day's hike, allowing ourselves to acclimatize to the higher altitude. The trail is steep and rocky, but the views of the surrounding landscape are breath-taking. We catch glimpses of the jagged peaks of Kilimanjaro in the distance, a reminder of our ultimate goal. As we near Kibo Hut, we are greeted by the sound of water flowing in a nearby stream. The hut itself is a small but sturdy structure, built to withstand the harsh conditions of the high altitude. We take some time to rest and eat before settling in for the night. As we drift off to sleep, we are filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement. Tomorrow is the day we will finally reach the summit of Kilimanjaro, and we can't wait to begin our ascent.

As we make our way up to the summit of Kilimanjaro, the air is crisp and cool, and the sky is filled with stars. The path is steep and rocky, and we have to use our headlamps or flashlights to navigate in the dark. As we reach Gilman's Point, the highest point on the crater rim, we are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The sun is beginning to rise, and the sky is painted with a range of colours that are both awe-inspiring and humbling. We take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this moment and to take photos to remember it by. We stop for lunch and a rest at Kibo, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, we arrive at the Horombo encampment, exhausted but exhilarated. We are greeted by our guides and porters, who are proud of our achievement. Descending Kilimanjaro, we're elated by our accomplishment. The path from Horombo Hut, steep yet scenic, leads us through a lush forest teeming with wildlife. Altitude drops near Mandara Hut, where we rest. Progressing through lower elevations, the air warms, and vegetation shifts. We reach Marangu gate, ending our journey, met by our driver back to Moshi. Exhausted but fulfilled, we can't wait to share our experiences. This descent taught us about ourselves and nature, a challenging but rewarding feat.
