Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu – First Family Wildlife Drive

Nairobi to Samburu – First Family Wildlife Drive

Our friendly guide will collect your family from Nairobi and assist with luggage before beginning the approximately 310–325-kilometre journey to Samburu. The drive normally takes five and a half to six and a half hours, with washroom, stretching and refreshment stops arranged for children and older relatives. After checking in at your family-friendly luxury lodge and enjoying lunch, you will begin an afternoon game drive featuring possible elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, gerenuks and lions. The guide will introduce the Samburu Special Five through simple explanations and wildlife-identification activities

Day 2: Full-Day Samburu Family Wildlife Adventure

Full-Day Samburu Family Wildlife Adventure

After breakfast, your family will explore approximately 40–70 kilometres over seven to eight hours, with breaks included according to the children’s needs. Attractions may include elephant families near the river, rare northern species, predators and colourful birds. Children can keep a wildlife checklist, identify animal tracks and learn how wildlife adapts to dry environments. Lunch will be served as a picnic or at the lodge according to the confirmed schedule.

Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru – Family Scenic Transfer

Samburu to Lake Nakuru – Family Scenic Transfer

After breakfast, you will check out and travel approximately 260–300 kilometres to the Lake Nakuru area over five to six and a half hours. The route changes from dry landscapes to greener highlands and farming areas, with suitable comfort and meal stops included. After arrival, you will check in, enjoy refreshments and relax. Children may review their animal checklist and prepare for the next morning’s rhino experience.

Lake Nakuru Family Safari – Transfer to Maasai Mara

Your morning includes a three-to-four-hour Lake Nakuru game drive covering approximately 25–45 kilometres. Children may identify rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, zebras and birds while learning how the lake ecosystem differs from Samburu. After the activity and an early lunch, the family will travel approximately 230–260 kilometres to the Maasai Mara over five to six hours, with comfort stops included.

Full-Day Maasai Mara Family Discovery

After breakfast, the family will explore approximately 50–90 kilometres over seven to eight hours. Possible attractions include lion prides, elephant families, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos and grazing herds. The guide will explain food chains, animal communication and family behaviour. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the reserve, while the private vehicle allows the day to be shortened if younger travellers become tired.
