Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara – Geography and Wildlife Introduction

Students and authorised supervisors will travel approximately 260–280 kilometres from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara over five to six hours. The journey introduces Rift Valley geography, agriculture, rural settlement and pastoral landscapes. After check-in, lunch and a safety briefing, students will begin an afternoon wildlife drive for possible elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Ecology Study

After breakfast, students will explore approximately 50–90 kilometres over seven to nine hours. Field topics may include lion social behaviour, predator-prey relationships, grazing systems, animal adaptation, scavengers and tourism management. Students may take notes and photographs while following safety instructions.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru – Land-Use Study

After breakfast, the group will travel approximately 230–250 kilometres to Lake Nakuru over four and a half to six hours. Discussions may cover agriculture, settlements, water resources and communities surrounding protected areas. Students will check in and prepare for the following morning’s conservation activity.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru Conservation Study – Lake Bogoria

The morning includes a three-to-four-hour Lake Nakuru drive covering approximately 25–50 kilometres. Students may observe rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes and birds while discussing endangered-species protection and habitat management. After lunch, the group will travel approximately 110–140 kilometres to Lake Bogoria.

Day 5: Lake Bogoria Geology Study – Lake Naivasha

Students will explore geothermal steam, hot springs, mineral landscapes and flamingo habitats for approximately two to four hours while following safety instructions. The group will then travel approximately 180–220 kilometres to Lake Naivasha over four to five hours and prepare for the freshwater ecology session.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha Freshwater Ecology – Nairobi

An optional boat activity may introduce hippos, fish eagles, pelicans and aquatic habitats. Students may discuss fishing, tourism, agriculture and water use before travelling approximately 90–110 kilometres to Nairobi over two to two and a half hours.
