As you begin your ascent, the trail takes you through lush rainforests, filled with a diverse range of plant and animal life. The path is well-established and easy to follow. About halfway up, you'll take a lunch break to refuel and rest. Summit day begins around midnight. After a light meal and hot beverages, you'll start the ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. After several hours of intense hiking, you'll reach Stella Point at an elevation of 5,700 meters, just before sunrise.
