The views from the hut are breath taking, and we can see the vast expanse of the crater and the surrounding landscape. Today, we will take the time to rest and prepare ourselves for the final ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The remainder of the day will be spent resting and preparing for the final push to the summit. We will go over our equipment, make sure we have everything we need, and do any last-minute preparations. We will also review our route and the challenges we may face as we make our way to the summit. It's important to be well-rested and prepared for this final leg of the journey.

    Day 6: Descend to the Marangu Gate and Drive to Moshi

The descent will take us through the forest habitat, where we can expect to see lush vegetation and wildlife. The descent will be faster and easier compared to the ascent, and we will arrive at the Mandara Hut. From there, we will continue our descent to the Marangu Gate, where we will sign out and meet our driver who will take us back to Moshi.

    A True Test of Endurance

    The Umbwe Route pushed me physically and mentally, but it was absolutely worth it. Our guides were extremely experienced and made sure we kept a good pace for acclimatization.     This was the adventure of a lifetime. The Umbwe Route is challenging, but the landscapes are unbelievable. The guides were motivating and kept us confident throughout the trek. Summit night was extremely cold and tough, but the feeling of reaching Uhuru Peak cannot be described—it has to be experienced.
