Day 1: Start climbing at Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Start your climb at Marangu Gate (1,860m) and climb through the rainforest for approximately 5 hours, covering a distance of 8.1 km. enjoy the misty rainforest with its unique flora and fauna. Mandara Hut (2,715m) will be your accommodation for the night, offering comfortable sleeping arrangements, dining facilities, and washrooms.

Day 2: Continue to climb from, Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Continue your climb from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,705m) for about 6 hours, covering approximately 11.6 km. Traverse through the transition from rainforest to moorland and catch breathtaking views of Kibo Crater along the way. Horombo Hut provides a relaxing environment for rest, meals, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut to Zebra Rocks to Horombo Hut

Spend an extra day at Horombo Hut to aid in acclimatization. Take a recommended climb to Mawenzi Hut, passing by the impressive Zebra Rocks. This acclimatization climb takes around 3 hours uphill and 1.5 hours downhill. Stay hydrated and move at a steady pace. Enjoy meals and rest at Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut 4th day of 6 days climb Kilimanjaro

Embark on a 6-hour climb from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (4,730m). Choose the lower route for a slightly shorter and easier path. The journey takes you through the alpine desert habitat, characterized by rocky terrain. Kibo Hut offers bunk beds for accommodation and access to amenities. Prepare for your summit bid and get a good night's sleep.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and descent to Horombo Hut- Summit day

Begin your summit attempt around 23:20. Climb for approximately 7-8 hours to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. The trail includes challenging sections with scree and steep inclines. Enjoy the magnificent views and take memorable photos at the summit. Descend for about 6-8 hours back to Kibo Hut, rest briefly, and continue to Horombo Hut for meals and overnight stay.
