As you begin the trek, you will walk through the beautiful cypress plantation of the montane forest, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature. Along the way, you may be able to spot some of the wildlife that calls Kilimanjaro home, such as birds and the iconic colobus monkeys. After a few hours of walking, you will arrive at the Simba Camp, which is nestled in a beautiful spot surrounded by rocky outcrops and lush vegetation.     On this day, you will start your ascent to the summit of Kilimanjaro, starting with an early breakfast and then embarking on your ascent to Mawenzi Turn. The journey will take approximately 5-6 hours, covering a distance of around 11 km and gaining an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters. The trail will take you through the beautiful moorland forest, where you will be able to see the stunning views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. The ascent to Mawenzi Turn will be a challenging one, but the views of the surrounding landscape will make it all worth it.     You will be walking through the small ridges and alpine desert terrain that separates the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The landscape is akin to that of the moon, with its rocky terrain and barren landscape. As you ascend, you will pass through the moorland zone, which is characterized by green and yellow vegetation, including heather and mosses. You may also see various bird species, such as the lammergeyer vulture and the Barbary partridge. The ascent to Kibo Hut is a challenging one, as it involves trekking over rocky terrain and steep inclines. However, with the guidance of experienced mountain guides and the support of porters and chefs, you can safely and comfortably reach your destination. Once you reach Kibo Hut, you will have some time to rest and prepare for your final ascent to the summit.

From there, you will ascend to the Uhuru peak, the highest point in Africa and the roof of Africa. This is a moment that you will never forget, as you celebrate your success in reaching the summit of this magnificent mountain. After spending some time at the summit, you will begin your descent down through Kibo to the Horombo encampment. This is a challenging descent, as it involves descend steep and rocky terrain, but with the guidance of experienced mountain guides, you can safely and comfortably make your way down. At the Horombo encampment, you will be reunited with the chef and porters who have been accompanying you on your journey, and will enjoy a warm meal of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    You will start your descent from Horombo Hut to the Marangu gate, where you began your journey.
