Arrival Day: Arrival – Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
Your journey begins with a pickup at Kilimanjaro International Airport. A driver will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, which takes about one hour. This day is for resting and receiving a briefing on the 6-day October safari. You can enjoy the warm afternoon and prepare for the dry season adventure. Arusha is a vibrant city that serves as the perfect base for your northern circuit safari.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a trip of about 2.5 hours. Tarangire is famous for its elephants and baobab trees. In October, the park is very dry and huge numbers of elephants gather along the Tarangire River. A surprising moment occurs when you see a pride of lions waiting near a waterhole for prey. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before heading to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti Central (Half-Day Game Drive)
Today you travel toward the Central Serengeti, covering 250 kilometers in roughly 6 hours. The drive through the highlands offers spectacular views of the caldera. As you enter the Serengeti, you will start a game drive in the Seronera Valley. This area is home to many large cats like lions and leopards. You might witness a rare moment where a cheetah is hunting in the short, dry grass of the central plains.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
You will head toward the north today to track the migration herds, a drive of 150 kilometers taking 5 hours. In October, the herds are often moving south from the Mara River back into the Serengeti. You will spend the day following their movement and looking for any late river crossings. A positive moment for many is hearing the sound of thousands of wildebeest calling to one another across the dusty plains. This region offers a rugged and beautiful landscape.

You might experience the thrill of seeing a hyena chasing a wildebeest across the dry crater floor. After a picnic lunch, you will drive 190 kilometers back to Arusha. The journey takes about 4 hours, and you will arrive in the evening for your flight or stay.
