Arrival Day: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
A driver will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and provide a transfer to your hotel in Arusha. The drive takes about one hour through local villages. This day is for resting and receiving a briefing on the 6-day September safari. You can enjoy the warm afternoon and prepare for the peak migration adventure. Arusha is a vibrant city that serves as the perfect base for your northern circuit safari in Tanzania.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you drive 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park, a trip of about 2.5 hours. Tarangire is famous for its elephants and baobab trees. In September, the park is dry and huge numbers of elephants gather along the Tarangire River. A surprising moment occurs when you see a pride of lions resting in the shade of a giant baobab tree. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before heading to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti Central (Half-Day Game Drive)
Today you travel toward the Central Serengeti, covering 250 kilometers in roughly 6 hours. The drive through the highlands offers spectacular views of the crater. As you enter the Serengeti, you will start a game drive in the Seronera Valley. This area is home to many large cats like lions and leopards. You might witness a rare moment where a cheetah is hunting in the short grass of the central plains during your September safari.

Day 3: Central to Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
You will head toward the north today to track the migration herds, a drive of 150 kilometers taking 5 hours. In September, the herds are concentrated near the Mara River. You will spend the day following their movement and looking for the dramatic river crossings. A positive moment for many is hearing the sound of thousands of wildebeest calling to one another as they face the water. This region offers a rugged and beautiful landscape.

Day 5: Serengeti (Morning Game Drive) to Ngorongoro

On the way, you can see Maasai herdsmen living alongside wild animals. An unexpected highlight is often seeing a giraffe standing tall against the horizon as you climb the crater rim.
