Book a 6-day solo Kenya safari from Nairobi to Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Lake Naivasha with a private guide and premium stays.
Designed for an independent guest who wants personal space without travelling unsupported, this six-day solo Kenya safari combines Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Lake Naivasha in one private road journey. A dedicated driver-guide handles navigation, park procedures and daily coordination while allowing reasonable flexibility for your wildlife interests, meal pace and rest needs. The Mara brings an afternoon drive and a full day on the plains; Nakuru adds rhino habitat and woodland; Bogoria introduces an alkaline geothermal landscape; and Naivasha offers a calm final morning with an optional confirmed activity. Premium single accommodation is requested throughout, although room category and any single supplement depend on availability and quotation. The itinerary provides structured support, scheduled check-ins and clear Nairobi pickup and drop-off, while respecting that wildlife, road conditions and lake activities remain subject to natural and operational decisions.
Personal Pickup and Briefing
Meet your dedicated driver-guide at an agreed Nairobi hotel, residence or airport point at about 6:30–7:00 a.m. Confirm emergency contacts, dietary notes, room arrangements and the day’s communication plan before leaving the city. Travel 225–280 km through the Rift Valley and Narok toward Maasai Mara, normally 5–6½ hours before extended stops. The guide arranges a comfortable break and lunch along the route.
Settling into the Mara
After arrival, check in and take a short private rest before departing around 3:30–4:00 p.m. for a two- to three-hour game drive, subject to gate timing. Because you are the only guest, the guide can discuss whether to prioritise landscapes, birds or mammals while following reserve rules. Return before closing for dinner and a clear briefing about the full-day safari.
A Day Shaped Around Your Interests
Breakfast is planned at about 6:00 a.m., followed by departure close to sunrise. Spend six to nine hours in the field including a lunch pause, with the guide selecting sectors according to wildlife movement, road condition and your interests. Travelling alone gives you unobstructed space in the vehicle, but it does not permit unsafe seat changes, prohibited off-road driving or pressure on animals.
Quiet Picnic and Afternoon Drive
Pause at an authorised picnic area around 12:30–1:00 p.m. Your guide remains nearby and explains local safety practices, including why guests must not walk away from designated sites. Continue across grassland and riverine habitats during the afternoon. Predators, elephants, giraffes, antelopes and seasonal migrants may be encountered, but no species or river crossing is guaranteed. Return near sunset for dinner and optional conversation about the next day’s route.
Supported Departure
After breakfast around 6:30 a.m., settle any personal extras, check the room and leave by approximately 7:30 a.m. The drive to the Nakuru area covers 220–270 km and usually takes 5–6½ hours before a long meal stop. Your guide keeps you updated about road quality, comfort breaks and estimated arrival rather than leaving you uncertain during the transfer.
Highlands and Premium Rest
Travel through Narok and the Mau highlands, observing the transition from dry grassland to cooler farms and escarpment scenery. Lunch is arranged at a suitable stop, and personal dietary requirements are reconfirmed where necessary. Arrive in the late afternoon, check into the confirmed single room and enjoy time alone to rest or use the lodge facilities. Dinner is served at the property; an additional park drive is included only if written in the booking.
Personal Game-Viewing Pace
Begin with breakfast near 6:00 a.m. before a three- to four-hour Lake Nakuru game drive. With no unrelated passengers, you can ask questions freely and remain longer at suitable sightings. The park may offer rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, baboons and diverse birds across woodland, grassland and shoreline habitat. Flamingo numbers fluctuate, and every observation must respect road access and animal space.
Safe Transfer to Bogoria
Leave Nakuru around late morning or noon for the 85–150 km journey to Lake Bogoria, allowing two to four hours with lunch and local conditions. Your guide manages navigation and check-in, an advantage for a guest travelling alone in unfamiliar surroundings. If there is time for an orientation stop, stay with the guide around geothermal areas. Check into the premium property, reconfirm the following morning and enjoy dinner at leisure.
Guided Alkaline-Lake Visit
After breakfast at approximately 6:30 a.m., explore Lake Bogoria National Reserve for two to three hours with your guide. The alkaline basin may feature flamingos, dry-country birds, escarpment views and visible geothermal activity, but conditions change. Remain on approved ground, carry water and never approach hot springs independently. The guide helps you enjoy the remote setting without feeling isolated.
A Calmer Afternoon at Naivasha
Depart by late morning for Lake Naivasha, 150–180 km away and generally three to four hours before a relaxed lunch stop. Check into the selected single room in the mid- or late afternoon. A prebooked boat trip may operate if weather and lake conditions are safe; the licensed operator makes the final decision. Otherwise, enjoy the garden, birdlife or personal downtime before dinner and the last-night briefing.
Confident Final Morning
Take breakfast around 6:30 a.m. before your confirmed activity. A licensed boat trip, guided Crescent Island walk or shore-based morning can be arranged according to the quotation. Your guide or activity leader explains meeting points, life jackets, walking rules and wildlife distance. You are never expected to join an unclear activity or walk alone in an unfamiliar wildlife area.
Door-to-Door Return
Check out at about 10:00–10:30 a.m. and drive 90–110 km to Nairobi, normally two to three hours without exceptional traffic. Lunch can be taken before departure or after reaching the city. Your guide completes the journey at the agreed central hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. For flights, the departure plan includes a responsible congestion buffer rather than relying on the shortest advertised road time.

Book a 6-day solo Kenya safari from Nairobi to Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and Lake Naivasha with a private guide and premium stays.
N.B: After you send your booking we will get back to you with in 24 hours.
1. Is Kenya suitable for a first-time solo safari traveller?
Yes, when the journey is organised with confirmed pickup, a licensed operator, a dedicated guide and prebooked accommodation. This package removes the need to navigate between reserves alone while preserving personal space. Guests should still follow normal travel precautions, keep documents secure, share the itinerary with an emergency contact and use the guide’s advice about walking, money and unfamiliar locations.
2. Will I share the safari vehicle with strangers?
The itinerary is designed as a private safari for one booked traveller. That provides personal seating space and greater flexibility than a joining tour. The quotation should state private operation clearly because vehicle and room pricing differs from shared travel. Park regulations, scheduled transfers and safety needs still shape the day, so private does not mean every timing request can be accepted.
3. How is the single-room supplement handled?
Premium properties price rooms differently, and a single guest often pays a supplement because one person occupies an entire room or tent. The exact amount depends on lodge, season and room category and should be shown transparently in the quotation. A single room is requested at each stop, but availability is not guaranteed until the properties confirm the reservation.
4. What safety support is available during the trip?
The driver-guide remains responsible for the road circuit, daily briefings and coordination with lodges and activity operators. The office should hold emergency contacts and the confirmed itinerary. Mobile coverage varies, so guests should not rely on constant connectivity. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance remains essential because a guide cannot replace professional medical care or guarantee immediate evacuation from every location.
5. Can the itinerary be flexible for one traveller?
There is useful flexibility in game-viewing interests, short comfort stops and how long you remain at suitable sightings. Fixed elements include park hours, check-out rules, major transfer distances and prebooked activities. Large changes may affect fees, accommodation and arrival times and therefore require office approval. The guide can adapt responsibly but cannot ignore road, weather or conservation constraints.
6. Will I eat every meal alone?
That is your choice within the property’s service style. You may request a private table, speak with other guests in shared areas or occasionally dine with your guide where arrangements permit. Special dining setups must be confirmed and may cost extra. Inform the operator about dietary needs in advance so remote lodges have enough time to plan suitable meals.
7. Can a solo guest join the Lake Naivasha boat trip safely?
Yes, when the trip is prebooked with a licensed operator and conditions are suitable. You may have a private boat or share an authorised departure depending on the quotation. Wear the supplied life jacket, remain seated as directed and keep a safe distance from hippos. The operator can cancel or change the trip if wind, water or wildlife conditions become unsafe.
8. How much luggage should a solo traveller bring?
One medium soft-sided bag and a compact day bag are usually practical for a road safari. Pack layers, sun protection, closed shoes, personal medication, chargers and copies of important documents. Although a solo guest has more vehicle space, excessive luggage can still obstruct seats and exits. Declare large camera cases, mobility equipment or rigid suitcases before the vehicle is assigned.
9. Can friends or family track my progress?
You can share the confirmed itinerary, lodge contacts and operator’s emergency number before departure. Daily messages may be possible, but remote coverage and lodge internet are not guaranteed. Agree on a realistic check-in routine rather than promising continuous contact. The company should contact your nominated person only according to the privacy and emergency details you provide.
10. Is the Nairobi airport drop-off reliable for a same-day flight?
It can be arranged, but the schedule must include a generous buffer for the Naivasha road, Nairobi congestion, security and airline check-in. Provide the correct terminal, flight number and departure time before the safari begins. Very early flights may require an additional Nairobi night. The operator should never promise an exact airport arrival that ignores unpredictable traffic.
