Today's leg of the expedition involves a 3-hour ascent from Karanga Valley to Barafu Hut, located at an altitude of 4600 meters. As we approach Barafu Hut, we'll be able to witness the impressive sight of Mawenzi and its surroundings, adding to the surreal experience of the trek.

The most challenging yet rewarding day awaits us. We'll start early in the morning, embarking on a 4-hour trek to reach the rim of Kibo Crater, nestled amid the Rebmann and Ratzel Glaciers. This final stretch requires careful steps, and for added stability, an ice-axe or ski stick can prove to be very helpful. Once we reach the Kibo Crater rim, a magnificent view of Meru and Mawenzi awaits us. From here, it's another hour of sheer determination and perseverance to reach the fabled Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The view from the summit is an experience that words cannot do justice to. After relishing the triumph, we'll descend to Barafu Hut for some rest and a well-deserved lunch. From there, we'll continue our journey to Mweka Hut, where we'll spend the night.
