The walk today will take approximately 5-6 hours. Spend the night at Umbwe Cave Campsite at an altitude of 2,850m. Full board meals will be provided.

    After breakfast and with packed picnic lunch, continue trekking towards Barranco Camp. Today's route will take you through the heather and moorland zone, with some uphill climbs.     Day 3: BARRANCO CAMPSITE TO KARANGA CAMP

    BARRANCO CAMPSITE TO KARANGA CAMP

    After breakfast, we embark on a challenging climb up the thrilling Barranco wall to reach Karanga camp. This day offers breathtaking views of visitors and porters navigating the tough terrain with their luggage. Some sections require climbing. Once we conquer the Barranco wall, we reach the top and have the opportunity to relax and capture pictures of the stunning Kibo peak and its glacier on the southern side. We then continue trekking up and down the trail until we reach Karanga camp, which takes approximately 3-4 hours. Enjoy a hot lunch at the camp, followed by a one-hour acclimatization walk. Return to the camp for dinner and spend the night at Karanga camp, located at an elevation of 3,995m

    After breakfast, we continue our journey to Barafu camp, traversing through the alpine desert. The walk to Barafu camp takes about 2-3 hours. We have a picnic lunch along the way. Once we reach Barafu camp, situated at an elevation of 4,673m, we settle in for dinner and spend the night there.

    Day 5: BARAFU CAMP TO MWEKA CAMP

    After a refreshing midnight tea and cookies, embark on a challenging journey towards your dream. The hike to the summit lasts around 6-7 hours. Reach the summit of UHURU PEAK at 5,895m and capture photos for 20 minutes. Descend to Mweka camp via Barafu camp, which takes about 3 hours. Take a relaxing one-hour break and enjoy breakfast. Continue walking downhill for 3-4 hours to Mweka campsite at 3,100m for an overnight stay with full board.

    Day 6: MWEKA CAMP TO MWEKA GATE

    Start the morning with breakfast, and then descend to Mweka Park gate for 3-4 hours. Meet the van and transfer to Stella Maris Lodge, which takes 2 hours. Enjoy an overnight stay at Stella Maris Lodge with bed and breakfast included. Note that on day 7, our driver will pick you up from the lodge to take you to the airport for your flight home, Zanzibar, or other destinations like a safari.
