The trail leads you through a dense rainforest, filled with the melody of chirping birds and the occasional sighting of mischievous monkeys. As you steadily ascend, the vibrant flora and fauna surround you in a mesmerizing display of biodiversity. After approximately 5 to 7 hours of trekking, you'll reach your first overnight campsite, the Umbwe Cave Camp (2,850 meters). Your ascent continues as you leave Karanga Camp behind and ascend further to Barafu Camp (4,600 meters). The trek, which takes around 3 to 4 hours, leads you through a stark landscape, with fewer plants and increasingly rocky terrain. As you approach Barafu Camp, the challenges of high altitude become more pronounced, requiring careful pacing and self-awareness. Arriving at Barafu Camp, perched on a rocky ridge, you'll be exposed to the elements and strong mountain winds. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the campsite and the upcoming summit attempt. An early dinner is served to maximize rest before the midnight ascent to the summit.

At the stroke of midnight, the long-awaited summit night begins. With your headlamp casting a faint glow, the trail to the summit seems ethereal. In the silence of the night, you'll navigate through the darkness, motivated by the desire to witness the sunrise from the "Roof of Africa." After 5 to 7 hours of challenging trekking, you'll reach Stella Point (5,730 meters) on the crater rim, where a sense of achievement fills the air. From here, a final push of 1 to 2 hours leads you to the iconic Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa. As the sun gracefully rises, painting the sky with hues of pink and orange, you'll be overwhelmed with emotions and pride for conquering Kilimanjaro. After soaking in the panoramic views and capturing precious memories, you'll descend back to Barafu Camp for a well-earned break. From there, the journey continues to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters), where you'll spend the night.
