After a restful night at your hotel, you will be picked up from Moshi at 8:00 am and driven to the Rongai Gate, located at 1980 meters above sea level. As you arrive, you will be greeted by your guides and porters who will be eager to start the adventure. The journey begins with a 2.5-hour drive to the Rongai trailhead, which is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. The drive takes you through lush farmlands and offers a glimpse into the daily lives of the local people. Upon arrival at the Rongai trailhead, you will begin your ascent into the forest. The trail starts off with a gradual incline through the tall grasses and dense vegetation. As you climb, you will be surrounded by the sounds of the forest and the chatter of the birds. The first stop of the day is the Simba Camp, located at an altitude of 2600 meters. This camp is situated in a beautiful location.

After breakfast, climbers will continue ascending east for a half-day climb to Kibo Hut. Kibo is located in the “Saddle,†which refers to the area located between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo in an alpine desert. The climb will take approximately 4-5 hours. At Kibo Hut, climbers will rest and enjoy a hot lunch in the sun. After eating, they will continue descending down to Horombo Hut 3720 m. This descent will take approximately 3-4 hours.

On day five, climbers will wake up early in the morning for tea and biscuits before beginning their summit attempt.
