In the wee hours of the morning, between midnight and 2 AM, you'll embark on the most challenging part of your journey. The route leads to the summit, passing between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. After a grueling ascent, you'll reach Stella Point on the crater rim, where you can rest briefly and witness an awe-inspiring sunrise. From there, the final push to Uhuru Peak await, making you the conqueror of Mount Kilimanjaro. The descent begins with a stop at Barafu Camp for lunch, followed by the journey to Mweka Camp. Gaiters and hiking poles may be useful for navigating the loose gravel during this descent. Elevation: From 4700 meters (15,350 feet) to the summit at 5895 meters (19,340 feet) and then down to 3090 meters (10,150 feet). Distance: You'll cover 5 kilometers uphill and 13 kilometers downhill.
