Ascend African peak forge bonds conquer Kilimanjaro and transform on this 7 day expedition Unleash your inner adventurer
7-day Kilimanjaro climb via Machame Route: lush forests, diverse landscapes, breathtaking panoramas. Forge bonds, find solace, immerse in cultures. Reach Uhuru Peak at dawn, be transformed.
After a delightful breakfast at Kilimanjaro White House Hotel, we head to the Machame trailhead, located at 1,800 meters on Kilimanjaro's southwestern face. Our experienced guides ensure our equipment is in order as we register at Machame Gate. The thrilling 7-day Machame Route climb starts here. We start with a short walk-through lush banana and coffee plantations around Machame village, ascending a ridge into a dense montane forest. This section is known for rich vegetation and Kilimanjaro's rainfall. On clear days, stunning views await, but during the wet season, it can get muddy. After a scenic climb, we lunch in a forest clearing before continuing our steady ascent. The afternoon brings a less steep trail as we leave the rainforest behind and enter the expansive heather zone. Our camp for tonight is Machame Camp, at 3,000 meters. Weather permitting, we may glimpse the glacial peak of Kibo. Prepare for approximately 5-7 hours of walking each day.

The remainder of the trail is relatively level as we traverse the heath and moorland, which are characteristic of Kilimanjaro's low Alpine zone. Our destination for the day is Shira Cave Camp, situated at an elevation of 3,895 meters. Here, you will experience a true sense of wilderness, especially when the mist rolls in during the afternoon. From the camp, you'll be treated to unforgettable views of Mount Meru floating above the clouds. Keep in mind that Shira Cave Camp is a convergence point for both the Machame and Lemosho/Shira trails, so you may encounter more activity at the camp, especially during the peak climbing season.
