Experience a thrilling 7 days Kilimanjaro climb via the Umbwe Route FAQs answered expert guidance and unforgettable adventure await
Commence on the Umbwe route up Mount Kilimanjaro is not for the faint-hearted. Its steep, direct ascent offers little time for altitude acclimatization. With low traffic, solitude is guaranteed, but success rates are minimal. While a six-day option exists, we recommend a seven-day journey for better acclimatization. This route demands experienced, resilient climbers. However, we generally dissuade clients from attempting it due to its extreme difficulty.
Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins at Umbwe Gate (1,800m/5,905ft). At 8 am, we meet in Moshi, where our team of porters, guides, and cooks joins you for a six-day trek to Uhuru Peak. After registration at the gate, embark on a 6-hour hike to Cave Bivouac Camp. The trail is steep, winding through Kilimanjaro's cloud forest, which eventually gives way to heathers, grasses, and wildflowers.
