THE SUMMIT ASCENT AND DESCENT TO MWEKA CAMP

The moment you've been waiting for has arrived. At around midnight, embark on the epic final ascent to Uhuru Peak. Armed with headlamps to illuminate your path, you'll navigate the mountain's challenging terrain for the next six hours. The stretch from Stella Point to Uhuru Peak is a more gradual incline and, comparatively, not excessively difficult in terms of the hike itself. However, the high altitude introduces its own set of challenges, making this portion both lengthy and physically demanding. The crater rim hike typically takes about an hour to complete. Upon reaching Uhuru Peak, don't forget to capture the moment with photos of your guide and fellow trekkers before commencing your descent to Mweka Camp. As you descend from Uhuru, savor the stunning views of the mountain, the crater, the rolling clouds, and the glistening glaciers.
