After breakfast at your hotel in moshi, you'll embark on a two-hour drive to Londorossi Park Gate (2100m). Along the way, you'll stop in a nearby village to pick up a packed lunch and any additional supplies you may need. The final stretch to the gate will be on a bumpy forest track, requiring a 4WD vehicle. At the gate, you'll register with the Tanzania National Parks Authority and meet your guides and porters. Then, you'll begin your 3-hour hike through the lush montane forest, where you might spot playful Colobus monkeys. In the late afternoon, you'll reach Mti Mkubwa Camp (2750m), also known as "Big Tree" Camp, where your tents will be set up and a delicious dinner will be prepared for you. Prepare for a chilly night as temperatures can drop below freezing.

Today, you'll rise early and leave the rainforest behind as you ascend into the heather moorland zone. The hike will take you approximately 8 to 9 hours, covering a distance of around 18 kilometers. You'll cross several streams and traverse a plateau, enjoying the panoramic view of the Western Breach and its glaciers in the east. Arriving at Shira 2 Camp (3505m) in the late afternoon, you'll be greeted by the soothing sound of a nearby stream. The porters will have prepared your tents and provided drinking and washing water. After enjoying evening snacks and dinner, you can relax and take in the breathtaking scenery before settling in for the night.

In the morning, you'll bid farewell to the moorland environment and enter the semi-desert and rocky landscape. After approximately 5 hours of hiking, you'll reach the imposing Lava Tower (4630m). Here, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy packed lunches and, weather permitting, climb the tower for a thrilling experience. It's normal to start feeling the effects of altitude at this point, such as headaches and shortness of breath. After lunch, you'll descend to Barranco Camp (3950m) for about 2 hours. The camp is located in a valley below the Breach and Great Barranco Wall, offering a serene setting to rest and admire the sunset. Drinking and washing water will be provided, and dinner will be served.

After an early breakfast, you'll face the Great Barranco Wall. Although it may appear intimidating, most hikers find it easier than expected, categorized as a Class 2 hike. From the top of the wall, you'll be rewarded with a stunning view of Heim Glacier and a majestic panorama above the clouds. The trail will then lead you through the picturesque Karanga Valley, offering an ideal day for acclimatization. After approximately 4-5 hours of hiking, you'll reach Karanga Camp (3950m). Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay will be at this camp, preparing you for the next phase of the journey.

Following breakfast, you'll depart Karanga Camp and continue hiking for about an hour until you reach Barafu Hut (4600m). This is the last water stop before the summit, as Barafu Camp (4550m) does not have accessible water. Perched on a rocky ridge, the campsite is exposed to wind and rocks, so it's essential to familiarize yourself with the surroundings before dark. An early dinner will be served, allowing you ample rest before the summit attempt later in the night. Your guide will provide detailed instructions for summit night preparations, and it's advised to retire early, around 19:00.

Around midnight, you'll be awakened with tea and biscuits to begin your summit attempt. The route will take you northwest, ascending over stone scree. This part of the climb is mentally and physically challenging, but in approximately 6 hours, you'll reach Stella Point (5685m) on the crater rim. As the sun rises, you'll continue for about 2 more hours on a snow-covered trail to reach Uhuru Peak (5895m), the highest point in Africa. Take the time to capture photographs and enjoy tea before descending to Barafu Camp, which takes about 3 hours. After a hot lunch, you'll continue your descent to Mweka Camp (3100m) through scree, rocks, and the moorland. The upper rainforest awaits you at Mweka Camp, where you'll enjoy dinner, wash up, and rest.

Following a well-deserved breakfast, the staff will celebrate with dancing and singing. This is the time to present tips to your guides, assistant guides, chef(s), and porters, showing appreciation for their support. After the celebration, you'll descend for approximately 3 hours to Mweka Gate (1980m). Signing your name at the gate is required to receive certificates of completion. Those who reached Stella Point receive green certificates, while those who made it to Uhuru Peak receive gold certificates. After the certificate ceremony, a hot lunch will be served, and you'll embark on the drive back to Moshi. It's time to relish in long-overdue showers and continue the celebrations.
