Day 1: Moshi to Umbwe Gate Trekking to Umbwe Cave Campsite

Your adventure begins with equipment preparation at the office, followed by a drive to Umbwe Gate, where the real journey unfolds. After park registration formalities, the hike to Umbwe Cave Campsite commences, led by experienced guides and supported by porters and a chef. The path winds through ridges and valleys, immersing you in a lush, dense forest.

Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp Trekking Kilimanjaro to Barranco Camp

On this day, you ascend through moorland forest to reach Barranco Camp. The journey offers panoramic views of the Baranco valley. Skilled guides, porters, and a chef accompany you on this trek through ridges and valleys.

Day 3: Acclimatization at Barranco Camp

To enhance acclimatization for the Umbwe route, spend a day at Barranco Camp. This break allows your body to adjust to altitude changes. Capture stunning scenery with your camera and soak in the beauty of the groundsel-clad campsite. If you're physically fit and acclimatized, you can opt for the 6-day Umbwe route.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp Trekking up to Summit

This day involves a shorter trek from Barranco to Karanga. You'll start by trekking the Baranco wall and then ascend through hilly terrain, reaching Karanga valleys. Enjoy the company of experienced guides, porters, and a chef on this leg of the journey.

Day 5: Continue from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, depart Karanga and connect to the Mweka Trail. Continue to trek to Barafu Hut, marking the completion of the South Circuit. Barafu offers breathtaking views of the summit from different angles, including the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. Rest, dine, and prepare for summit day.

Day 6: Summit Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Mweka Camp

This is the day your dream comes true. Start your ascent in the midnight hours, passing between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. Head northwest, ascending through heavy scree to Stella Point on the crater rim, where you can rest. From Stella Point, expect snow on your 1-hour ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Revel in the achievement and receive certification. Descend to Mweka Camp through the crater rim.

Day 7: Finish your Kilimanjaro Trekking Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, Return to Moshi

On your final day, enjoy breakfast at camp and continue descending to Mweka Gate, where Our staff will pick you up for the return to Moshi. Expect wet and muddy terrain as you descend to lower elevations, making gaiters highly recommended.
