7 Days Luxury Kenya Road Safari from Maasai Mara to Amboseli

Your professional driver-guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel, private residence, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or Wilson Airport, normally between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM. After luggage assistance and a short safari briefing, you will begin the road journey toward the Maasai Mara. The route passes through the Great Rift Valley, where an authorised scenic stop may be arranged before continuing through highland farms, rural towns and Maasai pastoral landscapes. A refreshment, lunch and washroom stop will be included according to the day’s timing. After reaching your luxury lodge or tented camp, you will check in, enjoy lunch and rest briefly before beginning an afternoon game drive. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and antelopes moving through the open savannah.

After breakfast, you will depart between approximately 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM with a packed picnic lunch. The guide will select the most suitable routes according to recent sightings, road conditions, weather and wildlife movement. Possible encounters include lion prides, cheetahs searching for prey, elephants travelling with calves, giraffes feeding around acacia trees, hyenas and large herds of wildebeest, zebras or buffaloes. Lunch will be enjoyed at an authorised picnic location before the afternoon exploration continues through another section of the reserve. You will return to the lodge in the late afternoon for refreshments, dinner and relaxation.

The second full day provides time to explore areas that were not fully covered on Day 2. After breakfast, you may travel toward riverine habitats where hippos, crocodiles, kingfishers, herons and other water-associated species may be found. Your guide may also search wooded drainage lines for leopards, open grassland for cheetahs and shaded riverbanks for lions. Depending on lodge location and your preferences, you may carry a picnic lunch or return to the lodge for a midday meal and rest before an afternoon game drive. The additional day reduces pressure to rush and gives the guide more freedom to respond to wildlife movement and changing road conditions.

After breakfast and check-out, you will leave the Maasai Mara and begin the journey toward Lake Nakuru. The road passes pastoral lands, rural communities, farming regions, trading centres and highland scenery. Your guide will explain the changing geography and community environments encountered along the route. Lunch, refreshments, stretching and washroom stops will be arranged at suitable locations. After reaching your luxury accommodation in the Lake Nakuru area, you will check in and spend the afternoon resting. An additional park drive may only be included when arrival time, park-entry validity and accommodation location make it practical.

Following an early breakfast, you will begin a three-to-four-hour wildlife drive through Lake Nakuru National Park. Possible sightings include white or black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, zebras, waterbucks and numerous birds. Pelicans, cormorants and flamingos may also be present depending on water and feeding conditions. After the game drive, you will return for check-out and lunch before travelling to Lake Naivasha. On arrival, you will check in at your luxury lakeside lodge and may enjoy an optional late-afternoon boat safari or relaxed lakeshore experience, depending on timing and confirmed inclusions.

The morning may include a boat safari lasting approximately one to one and a half hours when it was not completed on Day 5 and is included in the confirmed package. Possible sightings include hippos, African fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants and kingfishers. After breakfast or the lake activity, you will check out and begin the drive toward Amboseli. The route may pass through Nairobi’s outer areas before continuing across southern Kenya’s towns, farms and increasingly open landscapes. Meal, refreshment and comfort stops will be arranged along the way. You will normally arrive at your luxury Amboseli lodge in the late afternoon or early evening.

After an early breakfast, you may enjoy a final Amboseli game drive when included in the confirmed programme and permitted by the park-entry schedule. Possible sightings include elephant families, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, hippos and wetland birds. Mount Kilimanjaro may appear when weather conditions are favourable, although cloud and haze can hide it completely. After the activity, you will leave Amboseli and travel to Nairobi, with a suitable meal and comfort stop arranged before drop-off at your hotel, private residence, JKIA or Wilson Airport.
