Your destination is the Rongai Gate, also known as Nale Moru, where you will sign in and get your permits. The hike to Simba Camp begins as you follow a winding path through fields of maize and potatoes, surrounded by the picturesque wooden village of Nale Moru. As you ascend through the pine forest, you'll feel a sense of tranquility, with the forest providing a natural shelter for a variety of wildlife. The track gradually hikes, but the ascent is gentle and easy, making it a perfect introduction to the mountain.

The morning hike will start at an elevation of 2650m/8700ft and take you to the Second Cave at an elevation of 3450m/11,300ft. The distance of the hike is 6km/4mi, and it will take you approximately 3-4 hours to reach the Second Cave. The hike will take you through the moorland zone, where you'll encounter a unique habitat of semi-desert vegetation. After a day of hiking, you'll settle in at the Second Cave Camp, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the stars in the clear African sky.

Very early in the morning, you will set off on your ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The hike to the summit will take you through steep and heavy scree or snow, up to Gilman’s Point at an elevation of 5700m/18,700ft. From here, you will continue your hike to the summit, reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, at an elevation of 5895m/19,340ft. The views at every turn are breathtaking, and you will have the opportunity to take a picture at the summit to commemorate your achievement. As you make your way down to Horombo Hut, you will pass through lush forests and moorland, with the chance to see a variety of plant and animal life. Upon reaching the trailhead, you will be met by a vehicle that will take you back to Moshi or Arusha city.
