Celebrate your honeymoon on a 7-day midrange Kenya safari from Nairobi to Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara with private game drives.
Celebrate your new journey together on this 7-day midrange Kenya honeymoon safari from Nairobi, combining wildlife adventure with relaxed and romantic experiences. You will travel through Samburu National Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara National Reserve while staying in carefully selected midrange lodges or tented camps. Private game drives allow you to enjoy the safari at a comfortable pace, whether watching elephants beside the Ewaso Nyiro River, searching for rhinos in Ol Pejeta, cruising across Lake Naivasha or sharing a sunset on the Masai Mara plains. The package can be personalised with honeymoon room arrangements, private meals, flowers or other romantic touches.
Our representative will collect you from your Nairobi hotel or the airport before you begin the scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve. The journey covers approximately 320 kilometres and takes around 5½ to 6½ hours, including scheduled comfort stops. You will travel through the central highlands and Mount Kenya region before arriving in the warmer northern landscape. After checking into your midrange honeymoon lodge or tented camp, you will enjoy lunch and relax together before an afternoon game drive near the Ewaso Nyiro River and surrounding plains. The day may end with sundowner drinks or a private dinner when arranged in advance.
After an early breakfast, you will spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with your private guide. The game drive generally covers 60 to 120 kilometres and lasts approximately 7 to 9 hours, including lunch and rest stops. You will search for elephants, lions, leopards, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryx and gerenuks. A picnic lunch may be enjoyed at a designated area in the reserve, or you may return to the lodge for a relaxed meal before an afternoon drive. In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for dinner, with optional honeymoon room decoration or a private dining arrangement available on request.
Following breakfast, you will check out and travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, approximately 200 kilometres away. The road transfer normally takes 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic and stops. On arrival, you will have lunch and settle into your midrange accommodation before entering the conservancy for a shared afternoon of wildlife viewing. You may encounter rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, lions and other animals within the protected Laikipia landscape. A visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary may be included subject to opening hours and the confirmed itinerary. The evening will be spent enjoying dinner and quiet time together.
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Naivasha, travelling approximately 230 kilometres in about 4½ to 5½ hours. The journey offers views of farming areas, highland scenery and parts of the Great Rift Valley. After checking into your lakeside hotel or lodge, you will enjoy lunch and free time. Later, you may take an optional private boat ride to observe hippos and waterbirds, followed by a guided walk on Crescent Island when included. The calm lake setting provides a refreshing break between the main wildlife reserves. You will return for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Following breakfast and lodge check-out, you will drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. The journey is approximately 250 kilometres and usually takes 5 to 6½ hours, passing through Narok and the countryside surrounding the reserve. After arrival, lunch and check-in, you will set out for a romantic afternoon game drive across the Mara plains. You may see lions resting in the grass, elephants moving across the savannah, giraffes feeding on acacia trees and large herds of plains animals. As the sun begins to set, your guide will return you to the lodge or camp for dinner.
You will leave after breakfast for a full-day private game drive covering approximately 80 to 150 kilometres over 8 to 10 hours, depending on wildlife sightings and the day’s route. The guide may explore river areas, open grasslands and quieter wildlife sectors while searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and other animals. A picnic lunch will allow you to remain inside the reserve and enjoy more time together in nature. An optional hot-air balloon safari followed by a bush breakfast can be arranged at an additional cost. You will return to your accommodation in the evening for your final safari dinner.
After breakfast, you will check out and begin your return to Nairobi. The approximately 280-to-300-kilometre journey takes around 5½ to 6½ hours, depending on road and traffic conditions. Stops may be made in Narok and at a Rift Valley viewpoint when time permits. Our guide will drop you at your Nairobi hotel, residence or airport, marking the end of your honeymoon safari.
