Your 7-day midrange Kenya photographic safari will begin when our guide collects you from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a Nairobi hotel or private residence between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. You will travel approximately 270 kilometres to Maasai Mara, with an estimated driving time of five to six hours. Our journey will pass through the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, Mai Mahiu, Narok town and the scenic countryside leading toward the reserve. After arriving at your midrange lodge or tented camp, you will enjoy lunch, check in and relax before leaving at approximately 3:30 p.m. for an afternoon photographic game drive. You may capture elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and possible predator sightings in the warm evening light before returning at around 6:30 p.m. for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Maasai Mara Photographic Safari

Full-Day Maasai Mara Photographic Safari

You will wake up at approximately 5:45 a.m. and have breakfast before your full-day Kenya photographic safari begins at around 6:30 a.m. Your vehicle may cover between 70 and 120 kilometres during eight to ten hours of wildlife photography, depending on animal movements and the locations selected by our guide. You will explore open plains, seasonal streams, acacia woodland and riverine habitats while searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and grazing herds. Our guide will allow enough time at productive sightings so you can photograph animal behaviour rather than rushing between locations. A packed lunch will be served at a designated picnic site before your afternoon photography session continues until approximately 5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.

Day 3: Second Full-Day Wildlife Photography in Maasai Mara

Second Full-Day Wildlife Photography in Maasai Mara

After an early breakfast, you will leave the lodge at approximately 6:30 a.m. for another full-day photographic safari across Maasai Mara. You may travel between 60 and 110 kilometres while visiting different wildlife areas from the previous day. Your safari will focus on favourable morning light, predator activity, environmental portraits, bird photography and large grazing herds. Our guide may explore the Talek region, Mara River area, open savannah and wildlife corridors according to recent animal movements. During the migration period, wildebeest and zebra herds may be present, although their exact location and river crossings cannot be guaranteed. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the reserve before your afternoon photography continues.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru

You will have breakfast at approximately 6:30 a.m. before checking out between 7:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Your midrange Kenya photographic safari will continue approximately 240 to 260 kilometres from Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru, taking about five to six hours. Our guide will include stops for refreshments, washrooms and landscape photographs while travelling through Narok and the Great Rift Valley countryside. You will arrive at your Lake Nakuru lodge for a late lunch, check-in and relaxation. The quieter afternoon will allow you to clean lenses, recharge batteries, organise memory cards and prepare for the next morning’s rhino and bird photography.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru Photographic Safari to Lake Naivasha

Lake Nakuru Photographic Safari to Lake Naivasha

Your day will begin at approximately 5:45 a.m. with tea, coffee or a light breakfast before entering Lake Nakuru National Park at around 6:30 a.m. You will spend approximately three to four hours covering 30 to 50 kilometres during a photographic game drive in search of black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, baboons and lakeshore birds. After returning for breakfast or an early lunch, you will check out and travel approximately 75 to 90 kilometres to Lake Naivasha, taking about one-and-a-half to two hours. After check-in and relaxation, your photographic safari may include an optional boat excursion for hippos, fish eagles, pelicans, cormorants and peaceful lake scenery.

After breakfast at approximately 6:30 a.m., you will check out between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Your Kenya photographic safari will continue approximately 330 to 350 kilometres from Lake Naivasha to Amboseli, with an estimated driving time of six to seven hours. Our journey will pass through sections of the Rift Valley, the Nairobi bypass region, Emali and the open landscapes leading toward Amboseli. Our guide will include suitable refreshment and comfort stops along the road. You will arrive at your midrange lodge or camp for a late lunch or afternoon meal. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a short evening photographic game drive in search of elephants, giraffes and Mount Kilimanjaro views before dinner.

Amboseli Photographic Game Drive to Nairobi

You will wake up at approximately 5:45 a.m. and have tea, coffee or a light breakfast before beginning an early-morning photographic game drive at around 6:15 a.m. Morning conditions may provide clear Mount Kilimanjaro views and opportunities to photograph elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hippos and birds around the Amboseli wetlands. After approximately three hours of photography, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and check out between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Your final journey will cover approximately 215 to 230 kilometres to Nairobi over four to five hours. Drop-off will be provided at a Nairobi hotel, residence, Wilson Airport or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
