A Scenic Departure

Our guide meets you at the confirmed Nairobi hotel or airport pickup point near 7:00 a.m. Following a private briefing, your honeymoon journey covers 225–280 km through the Great Rift Valley and Narok to the selected Maasai Mara gate or accommodation. Allow 5–6.5 hours of driving without lengthy breakfast, viewpoint or comfort stops. The changing highland and rangeland scenery makes the road part of the experience rather than a simple transfer.

First Evening in the Mara

Lunch is served en route or at camp depending on arrival, usually between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. After check-in and a short rest, you will join our safari driver for a 2–3-hour afternoon game drive across open plains and acacia-dotted habitat. Wildlife appears naturally, so no animal or sunset scene is guaranteed. Return around dusk for dinner and a relaxed first evening. Any flowers, private table or honeymoon welcome must have been confirmed with the lodge before arrival.

Quiet Start Together

Choose an early breakfast or a packed option before leaving near 6:15 a.m. The first part of your full-day safari explores grassland, marsh edges or riverine routes selected from current conditions. Our guide keeps conversation informative but gives you space to enjoy the landscape together, stopping respectfully when elephants, plains game, birds or predators are encountered.

Picnic in the Wild

The complete outing normally lasts 8–10 hours, although driving kilometres cannot be fixed because the route changes with wildlife and reserve roads. Lunch is served at an authorised picnic place, or you may return to the lodge when location permits and a slower split schedule is preferred. Afternoon light brings another character to the Mara before you return by about 6:00 p.m. Dinner follows at the camp, with a private dining arrangement available only where the chosen property has confirmed it in writing.

Beyond the First Impressions

After breakfast around 6:00 a.m., you will set out for a second full day so the honeymoon safari can explore beyond the most accessible tracks. Depending on lodge sector and road conditions, our guide may choose a river corridor, broad plains, a marsh system or a quieter landscape zone. The morning activity generally lasts 3–4 hours before a picnic or lodge lunch.

Time to Linger

The afternoon is deliberately flexible: continue wildlife viewing, pause at a legal viewpoint or return earlier for lodge relaxation if both travellers prefer. A combined full-day game drive can last 8–10 hours, but it is shaped around comfort rather than a forced mileage target. The annual migration and river crossings are seasonal natural events, never guaranteed inclusions. You will return near sunset for dinner. A couples’ sundowner, massage or special meal is possible only when offered by the selected camp, separately priced where applicable and reconfirmed before travel.

Leaving the Mara

Breakfast begins near 6:00 a.m., with luggage collected and check-out planned for about 7:00 a.m. The road to the Lake Nakuru area covers 220–270 km and normally takes 5–6.5 hours excluding lunch, shopping and delays. You will pass through Narok and changing agricultural landscapes as our journey climbs away from the Mara ecosystem and approaches the cooler Rift Valley highlands.

A Restful Nakuru Evening

Lunch is arranged along the route or near Nakuru, with arrival commonly between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. After check-in at the confirmed premium lodge, you can relax together or take a short 1.5–2-hour park drive when the accommodation location, gate hours and daylight make it sensible. Forest, lake views and escarpment scenery create a quieter contrast to the Mara. Dinner is served at the lodge around 7:30 p.m.; the room category, bed configuration and any honeymoon detail should match the final written confirmation.

Nakuru Wildlife Drive

An early breakfast is followed by entry into Lake Nakuru National Park around 6:30 a.m. During a 3–4-hour game drive, you will explore accessible fever-tree woodland, grassland, rocky viewpoints and lake-edge habitat. The park is important for rhino conservation and supports rich birdlife, but every encounter and flamingo concentration varies. Our guide balances wildlife search time with comfortable stops and scenic pauses for both travellers.

Journey to Bogoria

After lunch near noon, the honeymoon route continues 85–150 km to Lake Bogoria, with distance determined by the park exit, road and selected accommodation. Allow 2–3 hours of driving without long stops. Arrival is expected in the afternoon for check-in and time to unwind. If reserve access and daylight allow, you may take a short orientation toward the alkaline shoreline. Geothermal ground can be unstable and extremely hot, so you must remain on authorised routes and follow the guide’s instructions. Dinner follows at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Bogoria Discovery

You will breakfast around 6:00 a.m. and begin a 2–3-hour visit to authorised areas of Lake Bogoria National Reserve. Escarpment walls, alkaline water and geothermal features create a dramatic setting, while the number and location of flamingos change with feeding conditions across Rift Valley lakes. Our guide keeps a safe distance from vents, boiling water and fragile shoreline habitat.

Romantic Naivasha Arrival

Depart between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. for the 150–180 km drive to Lake Naivasha, normally 3–4 hours excluding lunch and delays. You will reach the freshwater-lake area during the afternoon and check into the confirmed premium lodge. Spend the remaining daylight relaxing, walking only within property-approved areas or enjoying a pre-arranged lakeside setting. A private dinner, massage, room decoration or sunset activity is not automatic; it will be delivered only when the chosen lodge has accepted the request and it appears in your booking. Dinner is usually served from 7:00 p.m.

Lake Experience

After breakfast near 6:30 a.m., enjoy a pre-booked Naivasha activity lasting about 1–2.5 hours. Couples may choose a licensed boat ride, a guided sanctuary walk or a relaxed lodge morning according to the confirmed programme. Boat operations depend on wind, water and safety assessments, and life jackets are compulsory. Hippos and birds remain wild, so safe viewing distance takes priority over close photographs.

Homeward Journey

Check-out is planned around 10:00 a.m. before the 90–110 km drive to Nairobi via the A104 corridor. Allow roughly 2–3 hours excluding traffic, a viewpoint pause and lunch. You may dine in Naivasha before departure or stop nearer Nairobi, depending on your flight or hotel plan. Our guide completes the private drop-off at the confirmed Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, generally between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. We recommend scheduling international flights with a generous traffic and check-in buffer rather than relying on the earliest possible arrival.
