Maasai Mara – Rivers, Predators and Open Plains

A Flexible Second Day
After breakfast, depart at approximately 6:30 a.m. for another complete day inside Maasai Mara. Your guide may explore a different reserve sector, follow recent wildlife information or revisit an area where interesting behaviour was observed. Having two complete days increases flexibility when rainfall, road conditions or wildlife movement change.

Wildlife beyond the Big Five
Alongside larger animals, you may encounter warthogs, topis, elands, jackals, mongooses, hippos, crocodiles and raptors. Seasonal migration herds may enter the Mara ecosystem, but river crossings cannot be predicted. Lunch is served at an authorized picnic site between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Continue exploring until approximately 5:30–6:00 p.m., then return for dinner and your final night in Maasai Mara.

Premium Nakuru Stay
Lunch will be served during the journey or after arrival. Check into your premium accommodation during the afternoon and enjoy personal time to rest, read or organize photographs. Day 5: Lake Nakuru Rhinos and Lake Naivasha Relaxation

Lake Nakuru Rhinos and Lake Naivasha Relaxation

Nakuru Wildlife Circuit
After breakfast, enter Lake Nakuru National Park between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. The three- to four-hour drive explores woodland, grassland and accessible lakeshore habitats. Our guide will search responsibly for white or black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons and birds. Flamingo numbers change with water levels and regional feeding conditions.

Time beside Naivasha
Continue 70–100 km to Lake Naivasha, taking 1½–2 hours depending on the selected accommodation. After lunch and check-in, enjoy a relaxed afternoon beside the freshwater lake. An optional guided boat excursion may be arranged with an approved operator, subject to weather and safety conditions. Life jackets are compulsory. Solo travellers should follow lodge instructions carefully because hippos and other wildlife may enter unfenced lakeside grounds.

RELATED FAQS ABOUT 7 Days Premium Kenya Solo Traveller Safari from Nairobi

    1. Is Kenya suitable for someone travelling alone?

Yes. A professionally organized safari provides airport or hotel pickup, confirmed accommodation and continuous assistance from a driver-guide. You will not need to navigate unfamiliar roads or enter protected areas independently. Normal travel precautions are still required, particularly during personal time in Nairobi or other towns.

    2. Will I have a private safari vehicle?

A private vehicle may be included and is recommended for maximum flexibility. Shared departures can reduce the cost but depend on compatible dates, available seats and the operator’s minimum numbers. Your quotation will state clearly whether the vehicle is private or shared.

    3. Will I pay a single-room supplement?

Many lodges charge additional fees when one person occupies a room designed for two guests. Any single-room supplement will be included clearly in your quotation. It should never be assumed that accommodation will automatically waive this charge.

    4. Is it uncomfortable to dine alone at safari lodges?

Most safari lodges welcome solo travellers and provide relaxed dining arrangements. You may request a private table or, where the property allows, join a shared table. Participation in conversations or lodge activities remains entirely your choice.

    5. Can the guide help me take photographs?

Yes. When safe, the guide can assist with positioning and may take photographs of you using your device. However, the guide’s first responsibilities remain safe driving, wildlife awareness and compliance with park rules.

    6. How do you support a female solo traveller?

Pickup details, guide information and accommodation arrangements are confirmed before arrival. We use recognized lodges and professional personnel. Travellers should avoid isolated walks, keep valuables secure and inform the guide before leaving the accommodation independently.

    7. Can I join other travellers to lower the price?

Shared safari options may be available on selected dates, but matching depends on route, accommodation category and group preferences. We do not place guests together without explaining the vehicle capacity, room arrangements and applicable terms.

    8. Will I have time alone during the safari?

Yes. Although your guide accompanies you during transfers and game drives, you will have private time at the accommodation. Optional activities are not compulsory, and the daily pace can be discussed in advance when you have a private vehicle.

    9. What contact information should I provide?

Share an active telephone number, email address, arrival details, emergency contact and relevant dietary or medical information. If travelling internationally, ensure your phone can receive calls or messages after arrival in Kenya.

    10. Can the solo safari be customized?

Yes. You may add Nairobi accommodation, replace long transfers with domestic flights, include specialist photography guiding or extend to Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Tsavo or the Kenyan coast. Adjustments depend on availability and additional costs.
