7 Days Private Holiday Midrange Safari Tour in Southern Tanzania

Your private holiday safari starts at around 6:00 AM with collection from your accommodation in Dar es Salaam. Meet your driver guide, organise your luggage and begin travelling south toward Nyerere National Park in your private safari vehicle. Along the way there will be time for refreshments, washroom breaks and views of the countryside before you arrive in the Nyerere area during the early afternoon. Following lunch and a short rest, start your first game drive at approximately 3:00 PM. Explore until sunset while searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, antelopes and other wildlife, enjoying the freedom to stop whenever an interesting encounter appears. When a good wildlife sighting develops, there is no requirement to leave simply because another group's schedule has changed. Today gives you another full day inside Nyerere, making this holiday much more complete than an itinerary that spends only a few hours in each destination. Leave around 6:30 to 7:00 AM and explore a fresh route with your driver guide. Morning temperatures are usually comfortable and can provide excellent opportunities to encounter animals before the heat of the day increases. After several hours of wildlife viewing, enjoy a picnic lunch and a relaxing break in an approved area. The afternoon can then be used to revisit a productive wildlife zone or continue deeper into areas not covered previously. Finish the day's game viewing in the late afternoon and return for dinner.

Enjoy the landscape along the way and take rest stops whenever needed rather than following the timetable of a shared vehicle. On arrival, stop for lunch before entering Mikumi National Park at approximately 3:00 PM for an afternoon game drive. Its wide plains create excellent opportunities for watching herds of zebra, wildebeest and buffalo, while giraffes and elephants are also commonly sought during the drive. Meet an experienced local walking guide, receive a briefing and begin your chosen forest trail during the morning. The walk takes you into a world of towering trees, monkeys, butterflies, forest birds and mountain streams, creating a dramatic contrast with the open plains experienced during the previous safari days. For travelers wanting a more active adventure, a longer waterfall route can be selected, while more moderate options can be arranged for guests preferring an easier pace. Spend several hours enjoying the forest and viewpoints before returning during the afternoon and transferring to your midrange accommodation.
