7 Days Private Midrange Safari to Nyerere Mikumi and Udzungwa

Your private safari begins at approximately 6:00 AM when your driver guide collects you from your preferred location in Dar es Salaam. Once your luggage is arranged, begin the journey toward Nyerere with the freedom to stop for refreshments or comfort whenever necessary. Arrive around midday or early afternoon, enjoy lunch and take some time to settle in before starting the first private game drive at approximately 3:00 PM. Search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos and predators while enjoying the freedom to remain longer at the sightings that interest you most. The drive ends at approximately 6:00 PM, followed by transfer to your midrange accommodation.

Explore several habitats during the morning and stop around midday for lunch at a designated picnic location. Continue through the afternoon at a relaxed pace, allowing enough time for observation rather than rushing between different areas. Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon.

Begin another full day around 6:30 to 7:00 AM and explore a different section of the park. Because you have a private vehicle, today's game drive can focus on areas that were particularly productive or completely new zones that were not visited the previous day. Spend time watching elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, antelopes and birdlife while remaining alert for predator encounters. Lunch will be enjoyed inside the wilderness before continuing the afternoon session. Leave the park in the late afternoon and return for dinner and your final overnight near Nyerere.

After arriving in Mikumi, enjoy lunch and begin a private afternoon game drive at approximately 3:00 PM. The open Mkata plains provide excellent opportunities for viewing giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, elephants and antelopes, while lions and other predators may also be encountered. Continue until around 6:00 PM before travelling to your midrange lodge.

Depart after breakfast at approximately 7:00 AM and spend the day exploring Mikumi at your own pace. Your guide will move between open plains, woodland and water areas according to wildlife activity, stopping whenever you find an interesting animal or photographic opportunity. Take a picnic lunch around 12:30 PM and continue the safari during the afternoon, when different species may begin moving toward feeding grounds and water sources.
