After spending a few moments taking in the view, we begin our descent down the mountain. The trail is steep and rocky, but we are well-prepared and determined to make it down safely. We take frequent breaks to rest and drink water, and we encourage each other every step of the way. As we make our way down through the tropical rainforest, we are grateful for the beauty of the natural world around us. The trees are lush and green, and the sounds of the forest are soothing and peaceful. We feel grateful to have had this experience and to have shared it with each other. Eventually, we reach the park headquarters at Marangu Gate and collect our summit certificates. A vehicle is waiting to take us back to the hotel in Moshi, and we are tired but happy as we ride off into the sunset.
