Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Manyara/Karatu
Your safari begins with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. The travel distance is 120 kilometers and takes 2.5 hours. During the green season, the park is incredibly lush and the elephants are very active. You will spend the afternoon on a game drive looking for leopards in the baobab trees. A positive moment many travelers enjoy is seeing the vibrant green plains filled with migratory birds. You will later head to Manyara or Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Manyara/Karatu – Serengeti (Half-Day Game Drive)
After breakfast, you will drive toward the Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The travel time is about 4 to 6 hours covering 200 kilometers. As you enter the Serengeti, you will start a half-day game drive in the central plains. This area is home to many big cats like lions and leopards. A surprising moment occurs when the lush green highlands suddenly turn into the endless green plains of the Serengeti. You will spend the night at a camp or lodge in the central region.

Day 3: Central – Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour)
Today you head north to catch up with the movement of the Great Migration. The drive takes about 4 hours as you move through different habitats. During the green season, the herds are often spread out across the southern and central plains, but we head north to explore the different park zones. You might see thousands of animals grazing in the fresh grass. A great experience is finding a pride of lions strategically waiting near the migration paths. You will stay overnight in the northern Serengeti region.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti (Full Day migration river crossing)
You will spend the entire day exploring the northern Serengeti. While the river crossings are most common in the dry season, the green season offers a different perspective on the Mara River area. You will see large hippos and crocodiles in the full river. A positive moment is seeing the lush riverbanks teeming with life and rare aquatic birds. You return to your camp for dinner.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti (Full Day Tour) – to Central Serengeti
After a final morning game drive in the north, you begin your journey back to the central Serengeti. This return trip allows you to see animals you might have missed earlier. The drive is approximately 150 kilometers and takes about 4 hours with game viewing along the way. You might encounter a cheetah mother teaching her cubs how to hunt in the short grass. This transition back to the center provides a different perspective on the park ecosystem. You will overnight in the central Serengeti area.

Day 6: Serengeti (Morning Game Drive) to Ngorongoro
You will enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti to capture photos in the early light. Afterward, you drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The journey takes about 3 hours. As you reach the rim, the temperature drops and the air becomes crisp. A positive and unexpected moment is the first view of the crater floor from the lookout point at sunset. It is one of the most beautiful sights in Africa. You will stay at a lodge on the rim or in nearby Karatu.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater (Full Day Tour) – to Arusha
Today you descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing. During the green season, the crater floor is a vibrant oasis filled with flowers. The crater floor is home to the rare black rhino, which is a lucky find for many visitors. You will have a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before starting the drive back to Arusha. The trip back to the city takes about 4 hours. Your 7-day Green Season safari in Serengeti Migration concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
