RELATED FAQS ABOUT 7 Days Serengeti Migration Safari Green Season

What is the green season in Tanzania?

The green season typically runs from November to May, which includes the short and long rainy seasons. This is when the landscapes are at their most beautiful and many animals give birth to their young.

Are the roads difficult during the 7-day Green Season safari?

Some roads can become muddy, but our 4x4 Land Cruisers are well-equipped to handle these conditions. Our experienced guides know the best routes to take to ensure you have a safe and comfortable journey.

Is it good for photography during the 7-day Green Season safari in Serengeti Migration?

Yes, it is excellent. The air is clear and the dust is gone, which makes for vibrant colors in your photos. The green background also provides a beautiful contrast to the golden animals.

Can I see the migration calving during this tour?

The calving season usually happens in the southern Serengeti from January to March. If you travel during these months, we can adjust the itinerary to focus on this incredible event.

Are there fewer tourists during the 7-day Green Season safari?

Yes, this is one of the biggest advantages. You will have the animals to yourself in many cases, making for a much more intimate and quiet safari experience.

What should I pack for the rain on this 7-day tour?

We recommend bringing a light waterproof jacket and a poncho. Most rain showers are brief afternoon events, so they rarely stop the game drives for long.

Is birdwatching good during the 7-day Green Season safari in Serengeti Migration?

It is the best time for birdwatching! Migratory birds from Europe and North Africa are present, and many resident birds are in their colorful breeding plumage.

Are the lodges cheaper during the green season?

Many lodges offer discounted rates during these months, making it a great time for travelers looking for a high-quality experience at a more affordable price.

Can I still see the Big Five?

Yes, the Big Five are resident in the parks year-round. While some animals may be slightly harder to spot in the tall grass, your expert guide will help you find them.

Do mosquitoes increase during the green season?

There can be more mosquitoes after the rains, so we recommend using insect repellent and wearing long sleeves in the evenings. All our lodges provide mosquito nets for your protection.
