7 Days Southern Tanzania Midrange Lodge Safari Adventure

Depart Dar es Salaam at approximately 6:00 AM for the road journey to Nyerere. On arrival during the early afternoon, enjoy lunch at or near your lodge and take a short break before entering the wildlife area around 3:00 PM. Spend the afternoon searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes and other wildlife while becoming familiar with the landscapes of Nyerere. Return around 6:00 PM and settle into your midrange lodge or tented camp, where you can enjoy a proper shower, dinner and a comfortable night's rest.

Breakfast is served early before departure at approximately 7:00 AM. Spend the day exploring Nyerere with picnic lunch included, moving between different habitats while watching for elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, birdlife and predators. Around midday, stop for lunch and some time away from the vehicle before continuing the afternoon safari. Return to the lodge by approximately 5:30 PM, giving you time to relax in the property's common areas or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before dinner.

After another comfortable night, begin the morning game drive at around 7:00 AM. Today's route will focus on different wildlife areas to provide a fresh experience and increase the variety of sightings. Spend enough time at interesting encounters rather than simply covering large distances, and enjoy a picnic lunch during the middle of the day. Continue exploring until late afternoon before returning to the lodge for a final dinner in the Nyerere area.

Leave after breakfast at approximately 7:00 AM and travel toward Mikumi. Upon arrival, have lunch and begin an afternoon safari at around 3:00 PM. Explore the open plains where giraffes, elephants, zebras, wildebeest and buffaloes can often be seen across broad landscapes. The drive ends around sunset, followed by transfer to your selected midrange lodge for dinner and overnight.

Begin the day after breakfast at approximately 7:00 AM and explore the Mkata plains, woodland and water areas during a full day of wildlife viewing. Stop regularly for photographs and interesting sightings, and enjoy a picnic lunch at about 12:30 PM. Continue through the afternoon until around 5:00 to 5:30 PM, then return to the lodge. The evening provides time to relax properly before the next day's forest adventure.

After breakfast, depart Mikumi at approximately 7:00 AM and continue to Udzungwa. Meet your local guide and begin a forest walk through dense vegetation where monkeys, birds, butterflies and unusual plant species may be encountered. Depending on your chosen route, the day can include mountain viewpoints and waterfall areas as well as sections of shaded tropical forest. Complete the activity in the afternoon and travel to your midrange lodge, where you can enjoy dinner and a comfortable final night.

Enjoy breakfast and begin a shorter morning nature activity at approximately 7:00 AM. Spend time appreciating the forest and surrounding landscapes before returning to the lodge to prepare for departure. At around 10:00 AM, start driving back to Dar es Salaam, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrival is expected during the late afternoon or evening.
