    We start our 8-day Lemosho Route hike with a drive to Londorossi Gate. After completing the necessary formalities, we begin our hike through the picturesque Montane Forest. The trail covers a distance of 6 km and takes approximately 3-4 hours to reach Mti Mkubwa (2895m), where we set up camp for the night.

    Continuing our journey eastward, we pass through the scenic Shira Plateau and Shira Cathedral. The hike covers 8 km and takes around 5-6 hours to reach Shira 1 camp (3500m). Here, we enjoy stunning views of the Western Breach and its magnificent glaciers. We spend the night at Shira 1 camp.

    Leaving the forest behind, we enter the moorland zone, where the terrain becomes steeper. We hike across the high-altitude Shira Caldera and reach Shira Cave, offering spectacular views of the Arrow Glacier. After a 14 km hike lasting 5-7 hours, we set up camp at Moir Hut (4200m).

    Day 4: Moir Hut via Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

    On this challenging day, we ascend to the base of the Lava Tower at 4600m for lunch and acclimatization. We then continue on a stony and rough trail, descending to Barranco camp (3950m) after a 12 km hike lasting 6-7 hours. Barranco camp offers excellent views of the Western Breach and the Breach Wall.

    We start the day with a scramble to the summit of the Great Barranco Wall, followed by a hike beneath the icefalls of the Heim, Kersten, and Decken Glaciers. The 7 km hike takes approximately 4 hours, and we reach Karanga camp (3930m) where we spend the night.

    Leaving Karanga camp, we reach the junction of the Mweka descending trail and continue upwards to Barafu Hut (4600m). This marks the completion of the Southern Circuit and offers breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. We relax, have dinner, and prepare for the summit day at Barafu camp.

    We begin our ascent to the summit around 23:30, hikeking between the Rebman and Ratzel glaciers. The challenging hike takes us to Stella Point (5732m) on the crater rim, where we witness a spectacular sunrise (weather permitting). From there, we continue to Uhuru Peak (5895m), the highest point in Africa. We then descend to Mweka Hut (3100m) for our final meal and a well-deserved rest

    After breakfast, we hike to Mweka Park Gate where we receive our summit certificates. The 10 km descent takes approximately 3-4 hours through the forest habitat. It can be muddy and damp, so gaiters and hike poles are recommended
