    Today, we explore the Shira plateau and walk east toward Kibo's glaciered peak. The plateau leads us to Shira II Camp, and we continue to Moir Hut for an excellent acclimatization opportunity. Shira is one of the highest plateaus on earth, and we spend the night at Shira Hut (3895m).

    The day begins before dawn as we embark on the challenging summit push. We ascend through the glaciers and scree, reaching Stella Point on the crater rim. A short rest rewards us with a magnificent sunrise. From there, we continue to Uhuru Peak (5895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating and taking in the achievement, we descend to Mweka Camp (3106m) via Barafu for a well-deserved rest.

    Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

    We start the final descent to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. The terrain becomes wet and muddy as we enter the rainforest. Climbing poles and gaiters are recommended for the steep and slippery sections. At the gate, a vehicle will transfer us back to Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower, dinner, and celebrate your incredible journey.

    I chose this route after a short WhatsApp meeting with Geoffrey. He explained all the routes and mentioned that the Lemosho route was the most appealing route that help travelers to slowly acclimatize due to it gentle slopes. the route is as well popular because it hold the good mountain scenery that is breathe taking.
