8 Days Kilimanjaro Luxury Royal Trekking by Lemosho Route

After a hearty breakfast, we drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before beginning our hike. The trail takes us through the lush rainforest, and after approximately 3-4 hours, we arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, nestled at an elevation of 9,498 ft.

Leaving the rainforest behind, we ascend into the moorland zone. The trek offers sweeping views as we climb steadily towards the rim of the Shira Plateau. After 6-7 hours of hiking and covering a distance of 9 km, we reach Shira One Camp, located at 11,500 ft

Today is a day of exploration and acclimatization on the Shira Plateau. The trail winds through unique volcanic rock formations, allowing us to appreciate the stunning scenery. After approximately 5 hours of hiking over 8 km, we arrive at Shira Two Camp, where the glaciers of Kibo and the majestic Mt. Meru come into view.

We begin the day by heading east towards Kibo, reaching the highest point of the day at Lava Tower (14,600 ft). After a well-deserved lunch break, we continue our descent towards Barranco Valley Camp (12,960 ft). This 6–7-hour trek covers a distance of 12 km and offers remarkable views of the semi-desert environment.

Our hike starts with a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall, followed by a descent into the Karanga Valley. The trail winds through scree slopes and rugged terrain, rewarding us with breathtaking views. After 4 hours of hiking and covering 7 km, we reach Karanga Valley Camp at an elevation of 12,927 ft.

On this shorter day, we continue our ascent towards Barafu Hut. The trail gradually gains altitude, and after approximately 3 hours of hiking over 6 km, we arrive at Barafu Hut, our last camp before the final summit push. Situated at an elevation of 15,091 ft, it offers a chance to rest and prepare for the challenging day ahead.

Today is the most demanding and rewarding day of the trek. We begin the final ascent around midnight, climbing steadily for 5-6 hours to reach Stella Point (18,871 ft) just in time for sunrise. From there, it's an hour's climb along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating our achievement, we descend to Barafu Camp and continue further down to Mweka Camp (10,170 ft) for a well-deserved rest.

Following a restful night at Mweka Camp, we begin our descent through the enchanting rainforest. The trail takes us back to Mweka Gate (5,905 ft), where we complete the trek and receive our certificates of accomplishment. A short drive takes us back to Moshi, where we can reflect on our incredible journey.
