RELATED FAQS ABOUT 8 Days Luxury Kenya Road Safari from Samburu to Maasai Mara

    1. Why choose a road safari instead of flying?

A road safari allows travellers to observe Kenya’s changing landscapes, towns, farms and community environments rather than moving only between airports and reserves. The same guide and vehicle remain with you throughout the itinerary, creating continuity and a deeper understanding of the country. Road travel takes longer but makes the journey itself part of the adventure.

    2. Is the safari vehicle private?

Yes. The standard package includes a private customised safari vehicle and a dedicated professional driver-guide. This provides additional luggage space, flexible comfort stops and greater freedom during wildlife sightings.

    3. Are the road transfers tiring?

Some days involve several hours of driving, particularly Samburu to Lake Nakuru. Meal, refreshment, washroom and stretching stops will be arranged. Guests with back problems, mobility concerns or severe motion sickness should discuss their needs before booking.

    4. Are Samburu’s special species guaranteed?

No. Reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, gerenuks, Beisa oryx and Somali ostriches occur in the region but move naturally. The full-day safari provides time to search several habitats, although no individual species can be promised.

    5. Are rhinos guaranteed at Lake Nakuru?

Lake Nakuru provides good opportunities, but all sightings remain natural. Vegetation, weather, road access and animal movement can affect visibility. The park remains rewarding for giraffes, buffaloes, baboons and birds.

    6. Is the Lake Naivasha boat safari included?

It is included only when clearly listed in the confirmed itinerary and quotation. Weather, wind and water conditions may affect operation. Approved life jackets should be provided throughout the activity.

    7. Are predators guaranteed in the Maasai Mara?

No. Lions, cheetahs and leopards move naturally. The two full game-drive days provide more time to search different habitats, but specific sightings cannot be guaranteed.

    8. What luggage is recommended?

Soft-sided travel bags are recommended because they fit more easily inside safari vehicles. Guests should also bring sun protection, warm layers, comfortable footwear, personal medication and important travel documents.

    9. Can the safari finish at Nairobi airport?

Yes. Drop-off may be arranged at JKIA or Wilson Airport. International flights should not be scheduled too close to the expected Nairobi arrival because road traffic can cause delays.

    10. Can the itinerary be extended?

Yes. Additional nights may be added in Samburu, Lake Naivasha or the Maasai Mara. The journey may also continue to Amboseli, Tsavo, Diani Beach or Tanzania.
