Celebrate your marriage with an 8-day midrange Kenya honeymoon safari from Nairobi, combining beautiful landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters and relaxing moments together. Your journey includes Lake Bogoria, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli National Park, giving you opportunities to enjoy flamingo-filled lakes, rhino conservation areas, predator-rich plains, peaceful boat rides and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The safari can be operated privately, allowing you to travel at a comfortable pace and spend quality time together. Selected midrange lodges and tented camps may also arrange honeymoon room decorations, private dinners, cakes and romantic sundowner experiences when requested in advance.
Our guide will collect you from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning before you begin the approximately 290-kilometre journey to Lake Bogoria. The drive normally takes 5 to 6 hours, with comfort and scenic stops along the Great Rift Valley. After arrival, you will check into your midrange accommodation, have lunch and relax together before visiting Lake Bogoria National Reserve. Depending on seasonal conditions, you may see flamingos, hot springs, geysers and dryland wildlife. The day ends with dinner at your lodge, where honeymoon decorations or a special table setup may be arranged in advance.
After breakfast, you may enjoy a short morning visit around Lake Bogoria before checking out and travelling approximately 120 kilometres to Lake Nakuru. The drive takes around 2½ to 3 hours, allowing you to arrive in time for lunch and lodge check-in. After relaxing, you will join an afternoon game drive lasting approximately 3 to 4 hours. You may encounter rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons and numerous birds around the lakeshore and surrounding woodland. You will return to your accommodation for dinner and quiet time together.
Following breakfast, you will check out and travel approximately 260 kilometres to Masai Mara National Reserve. The transfer usually takes 5 to 6½ hours, passing through Narok and the beautiful countryside of the Great Rift Valley. After arriving at your midrange honeymoon camp, you will enjoy lunch and settle into your room or tent. Later, you will join a private afternoon game drive lasting approximately 2½ to 3 hours, searching for elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras and antelopes. A romantic sundowner may be arranged outside the reserve or in an authorised lodge area, subject to availability.
After breakfast, you will spend approximately 8 to 10 hours exploring Masai Mara, covering between 80 and 150 kilometres depending on wildlife movements. Your private guide will take you through open grasslands, river corridors and predator territories while searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and buffaloes. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic authorised location, giving you more time to enjoy the reserve together. An optional hot-air balloon safari followed by a bush breakfast may be added at an extra cost. You will return to your camp before sunset for dinner and overnight.
You will have breakfast and check out before travelling approximately 250 kilometres from Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha. The drive takes around 5 to 6 hours, with a refreshment stop near Narok. After checking into your lakeside lodge and having lunch, you will have time to relax. An optional private boat ride may be arranged in the afternoon, giving you the opportunity to observe hippos, fish eagles, pelicans and other waterbirds together. A guided Crescent Island walk may also be included. The evening will be spent enjoying dinner and the peaceful lakeside atmosphere.
After an early breakfast and lodge check-out, you will begin the approximately 320-kilometre journey to Amboseli National Park. The transfer normally takes 6 to 7 hours, depending on traffic around Nairobi. You will have scheduled comfort stops, and lunch may be served en route or after arrival. Once you have checked into your midrange lodge, you will relax before an optional late-afternoon game drive lasting about 2 hours. You may see elephants, zebras, giraffes and the first views of Mount Kilimanjaro when weather conditions are favourable.
An early breakfast will be followed by a full-day private game drive lasting approximately 7 to 9 hours and covering around 60 to 120 kilometres. Early morning may provide beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above Amboseli’s plains. Your guide will explore marshes, open grasslands and acacia woodland in search of elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, wildebeests and waterbirds. A picnic lunch may be served inside the park, or you may return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. The evening can include a private dinner, honeymoon cake or room decoration when arranged beforehand.
After breakfast, you will check out and begin the approximately 240-kilometre return journey to Nairobi. The road transfer normally takes 4 to 5 hours, excluding heavy city traffic. Depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a short sunrise game drive before leaving Amboseli. On arrival in Nairobi, our guide will drop you at your hotel, private residence or airport.
