    Today, the route takes you across the Shira Plateau and into the high alpine desert zone. You'll pass through the captivating "Garden of the Senecios" before descending to Moir Hut Camp at 4,200 meters. The breathtaking vistas offer views of the vast plains extending north of Kilimanjaro towards the Tanzanian-Kenyan border. Distance: 14km / 8 miles. Trek time: 6-8 hours. Zone: Rain Forest / Low Alpine Zone / High Alpine Zone.

    Day 4: Moir Hut Camp to Buffalo Camp.

    A moderately steep trek awaits you as you leave Moir Valley and ascend to Little Lent Hill at 4,375 meters, followed by a return to the Northern Circuit trail. Skirting around the northern slopes of Kibo, you'll reach Buffalo Camp (4,020 meters) by midday. Take in the magnificent views of the northern plains before resting and enjoying lunch. Distance: 12km / 7 miles. Trek time: 5-7 hours. Zone: High Alpine Zone.

    The trek resumes with a trek up the Buffalo ridge, leading to Pofu Camp for lunch. Continuing east along the northern slopes, you'll arrive at the Third Cave Camp at 3,800 meters. By now, you should feel well acclimatized to the altitude, making the journey more comfortable. Distance: 8km / 5 miles. Trek time: 5-7 hours. Zone: High Alpine Zone and Low Alpine Zone.

    Prepare for a steady incline up and over the Saddle, situated between Kibo and Mawenzi Peak. The trek then heads to School Hut Camp (4,800 meters), where you'll have an early dinner before your summit attempt. Rest well, as you'll be awakened before midnight for the final push to the summit. Distance: 15km / 8 miles. Trek time: 4-5 hours. Zone: High Alpine Zone and Glacial Zone.

    Day 7: School Hut Camp to Uhuru Peak and Millenium Camp.

    At around 11:30 pm, you'll begin the steep incline up Kibo's slopes in the darkness. After a short break at Hans Meyer Cave, the trek intensifies as you approach Gilman's Point (5,681 meters). Continue to Uhuru Peak, reaching it just after sunrise. Take in the breathtaking views and surrounding glaciers before retracing your steps back to Stella Point (5,739 meters) and then down to Barafu Camp (4,680 meters). From there, continue to Millenium Camp (3,950 meters) for a well-deserved rest. Distance: 6km / 3.5 miles ascent and 10.5km / 6 mile descent. Trek time: 6-8 hours ascent and then 4-6 hour descent. Zone: Glacial Zone and all preceding zones.

    Day 8: Millenium Camp to Mweka Gate.

    On the final day, trek through the dense montane rainforest from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters). After signing out with the authorities and receiving your certificate, take some time to tip your guides and porters before being driven back to Moshi. You've accomplished an incredible feat! Trek time: 3-4 hours. Zone: Rainforest Zone.
